Yeah either Johnson is getting swung outside to tackle, or Hurney is cooking up a deal to trade for one.

is there something about waiting to week 2 to sign a vet. some kind of salary cap thing?  I just can't seem to remember. But that is when we will probably sign someone.

If you wait until after week one, you don't have to guarantee their salary.

Gotta remember too that during the offseason, the cap generally only counts the top 51 players. Once the season starts (and maybe even right after final cuts, not certain) everybody, including practice squad and injured reserve players, will start counting.

have to carry Williams/Silatolu/Sirles on the roster for a day before putting them on IR with a chance to return. adding another OL before then just means another player somewhere else that you have to cut immediately.

Can only bring two back I’m pretty sure

Hamstring injuries can take months to heal. It depends on the severity of the pull. The fact that Sirles had to be carted to the locker room isn't encouraging.
