The link mentions that they are giving Dorian Johnson look at tackle. That might explain why both bis and clausell were cut

It's fine to give a guard who's never played tackle "a look at tackle" in a preseason game. But starting at RT or being primary backup at either tackle position for week 1?

We just cut all our healthy OTs not named Taylor Moton.  I hope this means Sirles and even Matt are expected to be cleared for week 1.  Healthy experienced players (even JAGs) are better than experiments.

But better yet would be to bring in some experienced depth at tackle as hard as that's likely to be.  Sigh....

I've seen a few OL let go today, most of em not anything special.  The better guys tend to take a little longer.

The Falcons let go of Austin Pasztor.  Not necessarily anything special either, but the familiarity of us having played against him could get him a look here.

surprised by Clausell and Carter, others as expected.

You had me worried for a second. I read the reply’s before I read the list and thought you were talking about our 2018 draft pick linebacker Carter.

DB Carter being cut isn’t a surprise. He Gunter and most of the secondary sucked last night. I think Carter isn’t cut up to be a CB but more of a safety.

I am not surprised at any of the offensive linemen being cut. Williams and Kalil will be back. We are better off signing someone else.

A lot of hate for amini but he is a lot better than anybody we cut and can be a decent BACKUP

Amini should only be a backup to the benchwarmer because he lacks finesse to be a waterboy and strength to be an equipment hauler.

I thought burner was better...never have seen anything from cap

hopefully with CJ he never gets a jersey

I think Barner is a decent back with special teams ability. Thing is CAP is healthy with not a lot of tread on the tires, has experience with our team, and is a better runner.

Also CMC can do everything Barner can do and CJ and CAP can basically do the same thing as a RB. we already have fast returners and special teams players that can play other positions so we don’t need Barner.
