The Carolina Panthers announced Tuesday that they’ve signed CB Josh Hawkins to their practice squad and placed DE Kiante Anderson on the injured list.

Hawkins, 25, wound up signing on with the Packers as an undrafted free agent out of East Carolina back in 2016. He managed to make the 53-man roster in each of his first two seasons in Green Bay, but was cut loose this past weekend.

In 2017, Hawkins appeared in 15 games for the Packers and recorded 38 tackles, no interceptions, a forced fumble and six pass defenses.

Wait.. can you sign a DE, and then 2 days later put them on injured list?

Rams reportedly offered Raiders an 'aggressive package' for Khalil Mack before Bears trade

The Rams were seriously looking to add Khalil Mack last week — before he struck a deal with the Chicago Bears — and reportedly offered what they felt was a solid package for the former NFL Defensive Player of the Year.

“We offered a pretty aggressive package and they came back and said, ‘We just think you’re going to pick too low,’” Rams executive vice president of football operations Kevin Demoff told the Los Angeles Times

Mack Suh and donald would have been brutal

That would have been nuts...glad they weren’t able to pull that off...although I did draft the Rams as my fantasy Defense...

Rams seem to be doing what Washington did during the lockout year. Throwing a stupid amount out there. Washington fell flat on their face. Gonna be fun to watch it play out.

The Rams actually have really good, not over the hill players now though, they will be good as long as Goff is on his rookie contract

Yea, it seems like the teams that have a moderately successful season then make a big splashes in free agency throwing around a lot of money thinking they just need a few more pieces to get over the hump (Think Eagles in 2011 aka Vince Young's "dream team"), always fall flat. It'll be interesting to see how it plays out
