The cap is going to increase every year, and other teams (like the Saints) have been supposedly in cap hell for years yet they find ways to get better.

When the cap increases for everyone, it’s not some sort of advantage. The price of players increases as well. Every other team has more as well. And we are about to have to pay Cam and Luke soon.

And the Saints were 7-9 for three straight years. And it took an awesome draft to get them where they are now. With an All-Time Great QB. So I don’t really understand why people use them as a barometer of cap success.

While it's true we need to take advantage of the window we have, in no way does Mack fit the Panther's model. Now, that may change with new ownership, but the Panthers putting themselves in cap hell for a position that does not fill an immediate need and does not typically require the kind of money Mack is expecting goes against the plan.

He's only 27, no injury history, no signs of slowing down anytime soon. I would definitely think about it.

It's not the two firsts I am as much worried about, it's the money he would want after the trade. And of course their asking price is crazy high, it's so they could settle for 2 seconds or a 1st and 3rd.

overpaying mediocre players is the panthers model. can't picture them acquiring a superstar in his prime. would be silly to pay an elite player at a position of need. how then would we afford to pay a #2 wr like funchess #1 money????

Other than the awful Kalil contract, what mediocre player are the Panthers overpaying?
