I found a post on Reddit from a Patriots fan that made me so happy

He's still on the PUP. It's different than IR. If he starts the season on the PUP he can be brought back in 6 weeks. In the meantime he wouldn't count against the 53 - not even on Day 1. Nor does he count against the 2 designated to return spots on the IR. I think it's a huge win for roster flexibility.

With Armah I think we can keep only 2 TE on 53 with 1 on PS.

True. They have options.

I have to admit I'm not that high on Manhertz, but the team seems to like him.

Any chance we can get a decent trade out of a receiver we can't hang on to?

That's not a bad idea. The only ones with value are the young ones though. If we really do end up cutting Torrey Smith, I don't see anyone giving anything up for him.

Unlikely. Cuts are coming soon and there will be ample options at that position for teams looking for cheap signings.

There are better free agent options still available if teams were truly desperate. No reason to trade during dumpster diving season typically.

Nah, we start with three HB's instead of four like last year to make room.

Manhertz, or a someone else will be the 3rd TE.

I see CAP as a surprise cut, move Hood to the PS as ''traditional back'' insurance (5'11, 230) and have Barner and his ability behind CMC, and CJ.

I agree with you about RBs (Barner over CAP), but I wonder if Manhertz will stay on PUP to free up roster spot early in season, then come back week 6?

Right now I have Barner and CAP as a coin toss, CAP has gotten more touches earlier in the game, which tells me that the coaches want him to be the guy, but I haven't been impressed. I like the idea of Barner being a 3rd down back (taking over Fozzie's role).

My real question though, is whether Armah has done anything in camp as a TE? I read early that he was running TE drills, but nothing else. Any chance he can fill in in a pinch?

I don't get this either. Is he a really good blocker? If so,  I can understand having him to help out, but otherwise, this puzzles me. Then again, I would've cut Amini by now.

You're not wrong, but going from an F- to a C+/B- really is noticeable.

It's a worthy question: How good are we really?

I also suspect we're not as good as the hype, but better than we have been. That gets people excited, probably a little too excited but hey...

I suppose the good thing is it won't be at all that long before we find out how good we really are (or aren't).
