2003: Lost in the Super Bowl

2004: Went 7-9, but were alive for the playoffs until the final game

2006: 8-8, missed playoffs

 

Maybe it's the homer in me talking, but this preseason sure does make me hopeful for the regular season. This game in particular reminds me of 2008 Preseason Week 3 where we destroyed the Redskins and we saw a lot of the things in that game time after time during the season when we ended up going 12-4.

For reasons I'm not sure I can explain, I honestly don't feel like tonight's game told me anything about how good a season we're going to have. Just didn't feel like Preseason 3 usually does to me.

There are definitely things I feel I learned (posted those earlier) but I still can't decide whether to be overall optimistic or not.

The SI curse.  Jake was on the cover and they heralded us as the “favorites” to win it all.

Preseason doesn't really mean anything. The eagles were winless and the browns were undefeated last year.

I blame that season on injuries. A lot of our key players were hurt. We made a nice run in the 2nd half of the season.
