New England holds a 7-2 edge over Carolina in the preseason, while Carolina has a 4-2 record against the Patriots in the regular season since the teams first squared off in 1995.  We lead 4-3 including our Super Bowl loss (this was right before they got busted for cheating).

edited to add: the first time they got caught cheating.

I hope whoever plays on the O-line does well, and maybe we have a diamond in the rough with one or two of them like we had in Norwell when he first started. I hope to see no injuries and clean play by the Pats (one can hope). If they go after Cam, we need to go after Tommy boy. I hope our D-line can stop the run better this time.

      Respectfully, I completely disagree. Last year we were:  32nd in Sacks. 32nd in Turnovers.  32nd in Rushing TDs allowed  29th in Scoring.  We were absolutely atrocious on defense last year and that was with a full stable of weapons in Derek Brown, Frankie Luvu and Brian Burns that played all 17 games.  Using yards per game as a metric to guage our success lacks the context that because our offense was so inept teams were not driving the length of the field, they were starting at their 40-50 yard line.  This year, our Defense ranks:  31st in Sacks. Tied for 19th in Turnovers  31st in Rushing TDs allowed 32nd in Scoring  His defense fails to get pressure, fails to turn the ball over and fails to stop the run. Three things you absolutely have to do to be successful in the NFL.  Denver meanwhile has not missed a beat without him.  If another team wants to hire him as a HC and the Panthers get two 3rds for it I'll wish him the best and pack his bags myself.
