damn. big things are definitely ahead. you don't hire this guy to maintain an NFL franchise, you hire this guy to grow your franchise into a globally recognized property. yeah, and almost certainly develop an MLS organization as well. big things.

what are your thoughts?

My thoughts are I was up late last night, slept late this morning and have to get ready for an appointment, so I'll have thoughts on this later.

And not that I doubt Darlington is reputable but I'd still like to see corroboration.

Just in case there was still any lingering doubts: Tepper bringing MLS to Charlotte would be yet another sign that he has and never has has any intentions on moving the Panthers.

It would be an excellent business decision on his part. Although MLS is almost unwatchable.

Could Tepper help bring MLB to Charlotte?

It's possible, but if you read all of his statements about Charlotte closely, you'll see that he's really more likely to bring MLS here. I don't know if he would be interested in triple-dipping either once he owns both an NFL team and MLS club.

Where's the post from yesterday of someone saying there's been no talk about it. ironic

That was mine, and up till this morning there wasn't. Though I do remember thinking yesterday "Watch me post this and us hire one tomorrow" :)

With that said, outside of Darlington and Gantt quoting Darlington, there's still no talk about this from any of the reporters who cover the Panthers or any of the national guys like Rapoport.

I assume someone will say something soon.
