Cowboys C Travis Frederick has been diagnosed with Guillan Barre Syndrome

It's a rare auto-immune disease. Frederick had been sidelined with stingers in training camp. This is a treatable condition, but there's no timetable for Frederick's return. The Cowboys will turn to Joe Looney if Frederick isn't cleared for Week 1.

This disease is no joke, my farther current is dealing with it for 5 years now. One day he had trouble getting up out of a chair without my moms assistance. The very next day he was unable to move any part of his body, other than his head. He could still speak and eat/drink. After getting him to the hospital the doctors did a spinal tap and confirmed he had guillian barre syndrome.  His condition spread finally to his head, as he was unable to drink/eat without chocking, the only thing he could do was suck on some ice cubes. A couple weeks passed then he couldn't breathe on his own, the muscles around his lungs were unable to contract. Like being burried alive and no room for your chest. He had to be hooked up to a ventilator.  Every family member came to visit him on christmas because we were told in so many words we could lose him.

Now gets around in a wheel chair and walker. According to doctors he won't be able to have the same quality of life as he used to. He won't have the same amount of strength or stamina as he had before to hold a part time job.

Sorry for the massive wall of text. I just want to say to everyone here, if you experience tingling in your feet, legs, and hands; and lack energy please go seek medical attention. Disease such as these are no laughing matter. The longer you let something go the worse it can get. Like not being able to move at all and your muscles turn into spaghetti. If my dad hadn't went, he would have died in his sleep.

A very terrible disease. Luckily, it looks like reports say it was caught early.

I know someone who basically had it. One moment, he was fine and living like any other human being. He exercised and lifted regularly, ate healthy, and pretty much was the peak definition of health.

Suddenly, he started to feel a bit weird in his legs and face. He didn't think much of it and just let it roll out, thinking it was some temporary phase in his body. Then after a while, he was paralyzed from the waist down and even his face was affected. He got diagnosed with that disease, and it's been a rough hill to climb.

Not at all something easy to recover from. Hope that Travis gets the help he needs and gets well soon.
