The 3 years ago probably tells you everything you need to know

Service industry and owning and operating a restaurant is a tough gig. You are right - they are a money pit. Some people think that just because they go out to eat every night or hang out at bars all the time  - they think they can run one.

I’m certainly not someone qualified to give out financial advice but I think sometimes these athletes who retire don’t really have a plan in place and think investing their money in a bar or restaurant because they don’t have anything else to do it a good idea - when most times it is not.

Regarding CJ - enjoy retirement. Career panther and def gave us some good memories and there was a stretch for about 4 seasons when he was really balling. I still remember that fuging leg whip against the Patriots in the ice up son game on MNF.

One of my favorite panthers of all time.

When i was in high school we were at the airport getting ready to fly out on a cruise for family summer vacation.

I saw all the these huge guys walking into our terminal with panthers duffle bags.  Didnt recognize any of them.  One of them (charles Johnson) was in line behind me at the little shop grabbing a bottle of water.  I asked him, not recognizing him if he and the geoup he walked in with worked with the panthers.

He introduced himself, said he was drafted by them and they were flying down to the rookie symposium.  When he found out i was a huge panthers fan, he just sat over with us talking football, asking our favorite panther etc etc.

Thought it was one of the coolest things at the time.

The nostalgic Panthers fan will always appreciate CJ doing his thing for as long as he did. Good memories.

The Debbie-downer, realist in me wishes he would have retired a couple years ago. He hasn't been all that great for a few years, and I feel it has hindered other players' development.
