Just a few free agents that have started at least 6 games last season.

I think it would be nonsensical to trade him for a draft pick right now. He hasn't done anything to warrant being released, and his depth is way more valuable than a 5th next year.

Plus even if he plays his typical average of snaps as he has over the last two years, he will still be worth a 5th next year.

He just came off the PUP on Aug. 14. Most of the write ups for this week that I read seemed to indicate the plan for the regular season was to start Miller at LT and transition Penn to RT(a spot he hasn't played but a few games in his career). Everything in the press and what the team officials seem to be saying indicates they plan for him to start. It's possible that depth chart isn't updated or that they are taking it slow with Penn just coming off an injury. 

It would be great to get a guy like him but from doing some reading yesterday, it doesn't look like the Raiders would be very eager or willing to give him up, especially if he is slated as a starter.

Closer you get to the start of the season, the less sense it makes to grab someone who's spent the entire off-season on another team learning a different offense. Our best bet would be to offer a late round pick for someone we like on a team that runs a similar blocking scheme, and the sooner the better. Waiting for roster cuts and guys to clear the waiver wire is more like gambling, I'd prefer a proactive approach.

It just hit me. Trade Vernon butler for a LT. This dude was a wasted first round pick. We don’t need backup DTs we need starting OTs. First round pedigree should let us get someone decent in return

Corey Robinson is the only option i'd see being possible (outside of Donald Penn). However, I wouldn't trade butler for him. I would consider draft picks or picks combined with player such as CAP or Byrd.

Already been suggested and discussed. What LT is going to be available in exchange for Vernon Butler?
