In this thread, we can watch medical professionals argue over the prognosis of an individual neither has actually examined following a complicated injury where the only details publicly available have been ambiguous at best.

Jesus.

On another note. Do you think Stephania Bell, ESPN’s “injury expert”(she’s actually a Physical therapist) goes out and evaluates each player when they go down with an injury? She’s just dropping general information about a specific injury which is always different per the individual. People like a consensus on healing times and return to play even if it isn’t exact.

Good sign for Panthers that injured right tackle Daryl Williams (MCL, patella) and left guard Amini Silatolu (torn meniscus) are on the side working out. Still no timetable for a return but when they do the depth Carolina had when camp began will be stronger because of the work others are getting.

This Kalil/Williams situation might not be as bad as we think......

  • 8 weeks from when Williams went down is Sept 23rd.
  • Our 3rd regular season game is the 22nd, and then our bye week. Week 4 game vs. the NYG is on Oct. 7th. DW would be 10 weeks removed from injury at this point.
  • Kalil going down could potentially put the better OT out there (Moton) instead of trotting out the hot garbage that the lesser Kalil is, due to financial reasons.
  • For the week four game vs NYG, we trot out: Moton-Van Roten-Kalil-Turner-Williams.

After seeing that crappy week four bye earlier in the summer, we all cringed, but it could now prove to be a blessing in disguise. Three games without Williams and then, hopefully, he is back at RT making that right side incredibly strong.

Any chance the coaching staff moves Moton to LT now and rotate Sriles/Kalil at RT, with the intent of moving both to back-up roles once DW returns? Is that too much of a reach asking Kalil to play RT?

I would like to think sirles could hold down rt for 3 games. I had him as lg, but, at this point van rotten has out performed him. Let's go ahead and move moton to the left, and keep Williams on the roster.
