Meanwhile...

David Newton ESPN Staff Writer

Panthers coach Matt Kalil misses second straight practice. Coach Ron Rivera said on Sunday that Kalil was getting an injury/vet day. He didn't seem overly concerned but players typically don't get consecutive vet days off. Depth on the offensive line already a concern.

I don't usually defend David Newton, but that was from yesterday. He's tweeted out the current news about Kalil's surgery.

Schefter just said on Sportscenter that the injury is truly week-to-week and based on similar injuries he has seen there is a chance Kalil can be ready for week 1. Not sure if that is good or bad news at this point...

So he basically got a note from his doctor to use as an excuse for continued suckage. Fits in with the “long con” Matt has pulled on the NFL.

Well, no one is going to feel sorry for the Panthers

we shouldn’t either

use Armah

use the TEs for extra blocking and move on.

does it cut the playbook in half, yes, but there is no reasonable choice at this point

might be a blessing in disguise, who knows...,if not this year than the next

One thing is certain, rather have Turner involved in this patchwork offense than Shula

What move?  People don't give away starting LT's.  They don't even give up legit backup LT's.

Why?  Because if your left tackle goes down, you kind of need a starter there.    Usually the only time one hits the market is due to $$$$$$.

So if we don't have $$$$?   Our LT's is overpaid for his performance.  The only people we have worth trading are ones we actually need.   What possible move could Hurney make to get a starting level LT here?

I just don't see it.

Pretty sure Gross would come back for the vet minimum
