Well...2 starters...but I agree. I optimistically think that Moton will work out at LT but Sirles at RT? I have no idea. And depth behind anyone except C is a major concern. This is officially our biggest issue going into the season.

However, with Norm, CMC and Cam...we are going to adjust and still go 19-0. Fear not Huddle.

Biggest issue going into just about every season under the watchful eye of Hurney/Gettleman/Hurney/Rivera and co.

Sirless is getting ready to get a big test week 1. He will likely be up against Lawrence.

To be clear, Motion may be the long term answer at left tackle, but that doesn't necessarily mean he'll look like it right away.

Gotta allow for some growing pains.

Why?  Because if your left tackle goes down, you kind of need a starter there.    Usually the only time one hits the market is due to $$$$$$. 

So if we don't have $$$$?   Our LT's is overpaid for his performance.  The only people we have worth trading are ones we actually need.   What possible move could Hurney make to get a starting level LT here? 

I just don't see it.  

 

Trade with Raiders for Donald Penn.  That's about all I can see.  Will require a corresponding move like cutting Torrey though.

Donald Penn. Not sure if you are looking for a candidate or not, but he did just take a pay cut from the raiders and fallen out of favor with gruden. He is also better than the options we have right now at LT.

If i had to guess, i think he could be acquired for a 6th rounder. Donald Penn called Gruden and yelled at him on the phone after the draft. Knowing Gruden's ego I don't think he gives two shits about the guy. Also, he has relegated him to second/third team.

So, you think Gruden would part with a quality backup tackle in a league that is desperate for quality tackles to a team that is beyond desperate for a tackle for a 6th round pick?
