Drafting Orlando Brown Jr. would've been a good Draft pick right about now.

Too bad they don't tell us who is going to get hurt during the season, before the draft.

but

O-line is the one position that I really wouldn't mind if we drafted a prospect every year whether we thought it was a need or not.  There just seems to be a major shortage of them in the league.

Let''s talk about what we knew when the picks were made:

1. We had a terrible situation in the defensive backfield.

2. Kalil was going to be healthy this year.

3. Norv was going to work on getting the ball out faster this season.

4. We planned on using a FB this year.

Brown was undraftable in the 1st or 2nd after that combine performance. I'm honestly surprised he went in the 3rd.

He would've started looking tempting to me in the 5th. His combine was just THAT bad.

I was in the Brown discussion pre-draft with the position that game tape matters way more than workouts.

I get why the combine performance scared teams off, but combine performance can also be credited with Mike Mamula and the skier kid whose name escapes me (Jeremy something, maybe).

Should we have drafted Brown? Don't know. Yeah we'd be better off right now but it's yet to be seen what he'll be like long term.

I do agree with the sentiment that it would have been nice to see us draft at least one offensive lineman. There were plenty of hints toward that pre-draft but it never occurred.

I'm usually in the "workouts are overrated" camp, but when the workouts are historically bad they have to be considered. Brown simply didn't test like an NFL caliber athlete and it definitely brings up the question if his college success had more to do with his huge bulk, the system, and blocking for a mobile Heisman winning QB.

4. Orlando Brown, OT, Baltimore Ravens

The Ravens have certainly been giving Brown every opportunity possible to prove himself. Including the Hall of Fame game, Brown has played a ridiculous 174 snaps already this preseason. He’s only been off the field for 36 of the Ravens’ 210 offensive plays so far. The Oklahoma product has showed himself well as he’s allowed only three hurries, zero hits and zero sacks in his 111 pass-blocking snaps.

There's a reason I was high on this kid. Oh I dunno, I just watched him for the past four years pass/run blocking for the best offense in College Football. I think I would know.

This part isn't toward you Linville, just an FYI.

But, but, Jackson>. But, but, Matt Kalil healthy! But, but, no need for him combine wasn't good! But, but, we should've waited longer in Draft! Huddle GM's>

No, actually you aren't. If we had drafted your guy, other poo would be happening that everyone and you would be freaking out about.

Not really. I would've traded next years 3rd or something for him. Anything is better than Matt Kalil right now.

No doubt.  However,  preseason my dude.  Bullets have yet to start flying.

I get it, but people saying it was just one game are completely wrong. Dude has been doing this over the course of three Preseason games. And that is a poo ton of snaps.

Again I'm with you.  I liked D.J.  I really like jackson right now.  Lineman would have been MY personal next choice. But I cant crown anyone in games were the scheme against you is less that a quarter of what you will see.  Either way I'm ok with what's going on outside of RT.  I reall think van roten can be solid and moton hopefully will do his thing.  Not sure about RT tho.  Gotta see him play.

You act like we we should have expected losing both our starting tackles. I don't care about your personal feelings toward our start LT,  Our starters were set, AND we had a top backup swing tackle.

Teams don't just continue drafting tackles to collect them.
