Really that’s physics 101? News flash buddy it’s not. I can tell you’ve never taken a physics class in your life so stop bringing physics up. Go take a physics class and tell me at what point the professor says “ok class as you all know a car crash involving a car going 80mph has a 72% of resulting in a fatality, but a car going 110 has an 80% chance of resulting in a fatality.” Both crashes have a high chance of killing someone. Stop trying to patronize me

I am not patronizing you, I am telling you that you are wrong.

Because anecdotal completely unrelated examples are always irrelevant. Just like the thousands of examples you could find of people being killed in vehicular accidents where speed was not a factor and the person (or people) who died weren't even at fault in the accident. Are those thousands of examples supposed to "prove" that we should all simply never get into a vehicle at all? Or better yet, hop onto YouTube and find the thousands of videos of people driving at high rates of speed on public roads and absolutely nothing bad happening. No ticket, no crash, just fun. That's the problem with using anecdotal one off examples for anything. They're always irrelevant.

Man, you are so much smarter than this. Really.

I was going to post some logic and facts regarding speed and death but there were so many I couldn't choose the best one.

I'm not pretending it's the worst thing but why is speed limit the one thing we generally have no regards to involving laws. I guess it's just human nature to put thrill and the minimal reduction in travel time over law and the safety of countless others.?

LOL @ that "curve". Some of y'all need to adjust your skirts in this thread. Your pussies are showing.

Your ability to push a pedal is super impressive.

I certainly drove like a teenager when I was a teenager too but your attempt to make doing things like this logical is not making you sound logical. Let's just say driving under the influence isnt a risk because not everyone who does it kills other people. Come on, you must be smarter than this.

Is that what I was calling logical?

When it takes 2 hands to count the number of people you know who have killed themselves driving recklessly you stop caring how manly and cool it makes them feel. Smart people do incredibly dumb things that affect the lives of so much more than themself.

But hey its badass and everyone else is a pussy

Just took 77 to work and the speed limit in the work zone is 55mph. Today's average TRAFFIC speed 77mph. I was going 65-70mph and the drivers in left lane were passing me consistently.

Maybe some people should go to city hall about this. I believe they have an open forum next Wednesday 5pm-10pm

Anyone who actually drives 55 mph during rush is more of a hazard than someone going 80 mph. The solution is for the city not to spend 30 years working on a stretch of road that could easily be done in 5.

how did you get to this extreme? The only reason it is considered "reckless" is because he was going 20+ over the limit and/or going over 80mph.

Also, who said it was badass?

For those who do drive on this board, it'd be hard to believe that no one here has not gone over 20mph the limit or gone at least 80mph.

A person shall be guilty of reckless driving who drives a motor vehicle on the highways in the Commonwealth (i) at a speed of 20 miles per hour or more in excess of the applicable maximum speed limit or (ii) in excess of 80 miles per hour regardless of the applicable maximum speed limit.
