Robert Quinn is no joke. Its preseason and we dont have anyone on our roster that could come close to providing an adequate simulation of what Quinn can do in practice. The Bills also didnt have anyone close to his level. Once the season gets going he will be fine. Jordan Gross was beat like that at times by great pass rushers.

Great we’re comparing Matt to Jordan gross.. & peppers is only the 4th in all time sacks and Addison is in his prime what more do you want.. I bet Haynes could have a career day against Matt and he’s never played a official nfl down..

I don’t need your history. Just stop acting like having an honest discussion, with differing opinions from yours, is “funny and sad”, as you put it. You sure don’t have problem telling everyone else how to properly express themselves.  You came in and attacked everyone who had the nerve to be upset with Kalil’s play last night. F you don’t like it t, don’t click on it. Or be prepared for some backlash.

And I provided information to back up my statement that Quinn’s play dropped of the past two years, as I stated. Has he played as well the last two years as before? Make any excuses you want. It’s still true.

I don't...care if you say Kalil is bad?  But literally when I enter the thread I see people stroking their egos because people dare say "hey maybe this former first round pick can preform for us." is kind of childish. I'm gonna laugh at people who rather be right about a player being bad so much that they dig up a year old thread just to say I told you so.

If you wanna have an actual football discussion and discuss the pros and cons of football, I'd welcome that. I love football discussions. I love learning about football and learning new things about football.

And finally, you post PFF total rankings. Nothing about his pass rushing grades, his snap counts or anything to determine he's less of a player than he was before, which seemed to be your point. His numbers, and footage of him beating  way better offensive lineman show that he is still the athletic freak he was before, speed rushers alone give Matt trouble, but when this guy regular beats elite o-linemen, I'm not gonna be too surprised when he loses to him one on one. I don't think last nights game changes anything we know about Kalil, and this whole thread feels like an over reaction to him getting beat by a good player.

You see, I was wiling to give Kalil a shot before we got him, but I was for a one year prove it deal.  Who I really wanted in terms of long term, was Riley Reiff.  My plan was to get Reiff, and put Matt Kalil at RT.  I was astonished we gave Kalil all that money.  FLABBERGASTED!  It had me thinking I didn't know what I was on.  Yet here we are years later, and the guy SUCKS!!!!  While Reiff is balling for the Vikes.  Ain't that a b----.

Kalil is and was hot garbage. Anyone with any sense could see that. Unfortunately, no one in our organization was sensible.

Honestly, he could be the level of dumpster fire he is now at $5-6 million a year and I wouldn't be upset. However, being one of the highest paid LT's in the league and being an unmitigated disaster? Completely inexcusable.

I take no joy in the "I told you so" because it doesn't help us as a team. I gleefully tell people about my prediction that Cam "...would be the worst decision in franchise history.." It turns out, crow is delicious. But I think most take little pleasure in being proven right about a player like Kalil. He's horrifying. Terrible. I wish we had just rolled with whatever scrubs we had at the time. Think about how much better we would be now.

You don’t care.... but you found it necessary to jump in and throw a “FUNNY and SAD” comment and let everyone know how beneath you this discussion was. Was there anything factually incorrect about what was being discussed. And when people like you keep throwing out lame excuses( such as “but rookie...Pro Bowl doe”), yes it will draw a reactions. Considering the excuses are going on 5 years now.

It has nothing to do with wanting anyone to fail. I wish Matt Kalil would become All-Pro. Just because someone points out a players flaws doesn’t mean they want that player to fail. You came in this thread and accused people of hoping players failed over the teams success. And expect everyone to be cool with it. That’s a line usually reserved for unrealistic “homers” to use when they run out of facts.

As for Quinn(I’m guessing ur a UNC fan), yes or no? Has Quinn’s play been as good the past two years as it was in 2015 or before? No excuses. No reasons. Was my statement factually correct? Just answer that.

Okay lemme break this down really, really slowly to you

I don't care if you call Matt Kalil bad.

I don't care if you bring up old topics to stroke your own ego.

I will however make a post. On a football discussion fourm, about how it's both funny and kind of sad that we're celebrating a person's failure so much that we dig up year old topics. It was a throwaway line at the end of post. You can do whatever you want, just like I'm allowed to react to it however I want. I don't have to care about whatever you do to have a reaction to it. I'm not losing any sleep over it. I'm not pacing around my room fuming over it. Just my observation. S'not hard.

I don't know where you got this idea that I think people are going to be cool with my thoughts and opinions. I don't. Nor have I ever stated that. I'm explaining my point of view just like you are pal. I know Matt Kalil has been bad. I know his time in Minnesota was for the most part god awful. However for us, outside of the start of last season he has mostly been serviceable for us. There was a stretch of games last season where he didn't give up any pressures. It's not like I'm blindly holding onto his first round grade or just putting blind faith in him. My entire point is: He went against a good DE last night that happens to capatlize on his weakness. We didn't learn anything new about Matt Kalil. Yet so many posters here act like he suddenly can't do jack poo and doomsday is upon us.

And, yes. You posted that his PFF grade is lower than it was in 2015. But that's acting like numbers tell the whole story. They don't. And has nothing to do with the point I was making at all. I don't know why you're harping on this one fact when it has absolutely nothing to do with the discussion. Why does it matter what his PFF grade matter so much to you, again?

Also it's HELLA IRONIC you say you want an objective discussion, post one thing, then ignore any and all counter arguments and boil an argument down to a yes or no question.

Just like you follow it up with more nonsense excuses for Kalil. But you don’t care...Right?

And YOU brought up Quinn as ANOTHER excuse. Then dared anyone to debate. I simply made a factual statement. It’s all about being right to me(it’s all I live for) so I made sure this was correct.

Yeah how dare I use a football forum for discussion like it's intended. Obviously I care if I have a reaction to something, I guess?

I'd continue to debate with you but you're now ignoring any and all statements I give and are only focusing on seeing if I care or not and disregarding any and all counterarguments all together.

So if it makes you feel any better, yes I care about football enough to share my thoughts and opinions and have discussion. If you actually want to talk about that, I'd be more than happy to. But I'm starting to realize you just want to argue to argue instead of actually discussing your point of view on things, and also seem to think that PFF is a bible and that tells the whole story.

Have a good one.

Just like how dare anyone else in this thread believe they can post what they want on a football discussion forum. Should we run every topic by you first? Because it doesn’t seem like you want to afford anyone else the privilege you feel you deserve. Was this the thought that passed through your mind when you made a blanket statement calling everyone sad. For doing nothing much re than discussing football.

Which is why it seems I’m “ignoring” your statements. Because they all just dance around you being a complete hypocrite about this. Or more excuses about Matt Kalil. Which everyone is tired of hearing.

You're focusing on one line in a post that was mostly about football. I don't know how that makes it seem like things have to be run by me, especially when I've stated, multiple times, I really don't care what people do or say, it's just an observation and my reaction to those posts. You're going way off the rails on this and doing some extraordinary mental gymnastics off of one line which was just how I decided to close out that post.

I have zero idea what I've been hypocritical about. I've never told people not to think like that, what to post or to act. And I haven't danced around anything,  I've responded to each and every one of your points and they all have the same reasoning behind it. My stance seems pretty clear: People can act how they want, and I can choose how to react to it.

If anyone has danced around anything, it's you. You call every counter argument an excuse because it doesn't agree with how you view things. Football is more than numbers. I've never made an excuse for Matt, my point was he's always been bad against speed rushers, his feet are awful and when he has to shuffle or anything akin to that, he often gets beat. Making OTs get wide is Quinn's forte, and it's no surprise he had an awful night against one of the more athletic DEs in the league. Which is why I made the point about people using his numbers as an excuse.  Quinn's off seasons has nothing to do with a decline with his natural talent. Yet everyone is acting surprised when Matt is 1-on-1 with him and loses horribly.
