then why are people purposely not showing midfield over the past few days? If they're not going to put the logo there for a few more weeks then why would they be teasing the fans this hard in all their social media?

So even the Panther logos at the 25's are gone.  Interesting.  Even if no logo until the Dallas season opener, wouldn't there at least be something at the 50 tonight?  I guess there doesn't have to be but...

Don’t hold your breath for a logo tonight. I looked back at the last two preseason’s home games. No logo on the 50 at all for those games. The teasing may be just that.

Black paint is really bad for the turf. I expect them to keep the paint to a minimum until the season starts.

I read somewhere a few years ago (no links) they have a different kind of paint that does not hurt the grass.
