Ahhhhh, for the salad days when CAP was getting his yards in preseason games against 3rd stringers and UDFA and we were being told that those performances didn't count because it was against players that "were gonna get cut" and that its what the coaches see every day in practice that counts.

Now?  It seems that what you do in preseason games against 3rd stringers and UDFAs who are "gonna get cut" that counts and, now that Igo is reporting that CAP is doing very well in practice, what they show every day in practice no longer counts!

I am shocked to hear that the people who have hated on CAP since his first day in uniform as a 5th round draft pick have now done a 180 on what "counts" to more easily fit it into their long-held, pre-judged opinion.

SHOCKED, I say.

(P.S. And by SHOCKED, I mean totally *not* shocked.)

I was wondering what angle you were going to take when CAP, uncharacteristically, had a pretty poor game, 5 carries for a yard.

On the whole Seymour topic, didn't he play well when he jumped in for Worley last year? Let's wait this out and see how he progresses through camp. Also, is there a reason that Gunter isn't getting more looks to start? He looked really solid in the time that he had to play last season.

Him and Worely were interchangably bad.  I thought Seymour was a small step up.  I may have been mistaken. He looked like he was on running on ice.  Maybe he needs new shoes.

Only other one that comes to mind for me was Antoine Cason.

Yeah, that would probably be the closest comp, but I don't even recall a team throwing at him almost every pass for 2 series in a row.  It was painful to watch.

In all honesty, I didn't know we had a Richie Brown on the team until I just googled him. He must have played in the 4th quarter that I didn't get to watch.

Yeah I know no one really knows him. Just hoping he makes it somewhere.

Yep. I posted that in the Worley’s gone threads. Seymour didn’t look that good, gave up an easy TD and was not better than Worley.

As someone else pointed out, Worley at least could tackle and was decent in run defense. If Seymour did anything to show he could tackle last night, I missed it.

And while I realize some people are pointing to the lack of game planning, you don't need a game plan to just cover somebody one on one. Seymour got beaten...badly...including at least once by a receiver that nobody is gonna confuse with a track star.

Bottom Line: That was about as horrible a performance as I've seen from a corner in quite some time.
