Well, do we need a back up QB?

No. If Cam goes down, we're screwed anyway. Might as well secure the highest pick we can if that happens.

Probably but I could see us making a run with Teddy Bridgewater. No one else available would stand a chance though. After Nick Foles last year and with Teddy's history with Norv and pedigree I'm starting to think getting him would be a good idea.

I don't care about giving up anything of value for one, but a decent vet would be great.  If nothing else, Mark Sanchez would be nice since he's essentially another coach. If we play a backup like Teddy B. that people want, doesn't matter we're not winning anyway.

Also the way the game has looked so far, give me a new defensive coordinator or defense before anything else.

Cam easily could miss 1-4 games in a season.  We can’t afford to have automatic losses in all those.  Can’t just look at it from if Cam goes down we are screwed so it doesn’t matter.

Yes, if Cam went down for the year we are screwed.  If he misses a couple games...the backup matters.

We had playoff seasons where Cam the backup won games.   I mean that is when a backup matters.  Can you win one of the few games when called upon.....no one expects the backup to be the guy

Gilbert 4 of 8 for 31 yards at the half. Not impressive but it's better if Ian brings that ball in. I don't think he's the future by any stretch but we can't tell based off 3 possessions

He'll get lit up against starters though

I'm all for signing Kaep tbh. He could be our Cam lite if Cam were to go down for a few games. Kaep is not a bad backup at all. Has a ton of starting experience, can throw the ball better than any of our backups, can make a play with his legs, and has actually won games in this league. Too bad the NFL blacklisted him though.
