The Star blasphemy in this thread smh

Star left because he got paid big money somewhere else. He wasn’t a miss lol. He was a very important cog on a perennial league-best front seven.

With the salary cap you can’t pay every player.  Hell, it was Brandon Beane and sean McDermott that signed Star to 5 years $50 million. They know him as well as anyone.

That said, awesome we got Poe.

Star was overpaid. His effectiveness gradually decreased as opposed to improving. By the time he exited here, he was no where near a top DT in the league. That's just the truth of the matter.  And my thing is, he probably reached his ceiling when he first entered the league. I suspect that's as good as it gets. We can do better, and we did, for less money at that.

I agree we upgraded somehow for cheaper than Star. I chalk it up to a damn miracle.

plug a guy like Dontari in and you don’t miss a beat. Dontari’s big, he’s physical, he takes up space. But he’s also very athletic. He’s nimble on his feet, he moves really well. For as big as he is, it’s pretty interesting."

Yeah, it's a pretty big stretch to suggest Luke is implying anything here.

"Didn't miss a beat" doesn't mean "upgrade".

Read the above bolded part and tell me thst doesn't imply an upgrade.

Not really. It just sounds like he's describing Poe's strengths. No comparison needed.

More to the point though, consider the source. Does Luke Kuechly really seem like the type of guy who'd ever talk down about a former teammate?

Pep, KK, Poe, Addison

Shaq, Luke, Davis

Ehh okay I wouldn't really say Shaq can "really rush the passer" with his 3 career sacks. And getting to the passer is the only area Luke doesn't excel at. TD I can see.
