Better be scouring waiver wire and practice squads.

Not in a good place to expect what they have to be available for 20 games plus post season

teams go as their lines go

my opinion is one more injury and they need to make a trade....  Either draft pick or player(s) or both

ol was not great before these injuries.

Panthers sign future center at bargain, but it’s life-changing for Tyler Larsen

In the summer and fall of 2016, Tyler Larsen lived with his parents and worked for his father. His job was to replace sprinkler heads and lay sod.

But on Wednesday, Larsen, 27, signed a 2-year, $4.4 million extension with the Carolina Panthers with $1.4 million guaranteed according to a league source.

Good deal for a guy who is most likely our starting center next year.

I'd prefer Larsen as a Hangartner type utility more so than a starter, honestly.

Really good centers can generally be found in the mid-rounds of the draft.

When he gets full time reps at center next year, he'll be in a contract year.

With Ryan’s history, he’ll probably get most of the C reps this year.

love stories like this, congrats Tyler, if you manage this money correctly you and even your kids wont ever have to worry about bills for the rest of their lives.

Happy for him and us.  He is of the utmost quality as a backup and serviceable as a starter, with maybe still some untapped potential...  but, i still have reservations about him starting long-term after seeing, even in spite of seemingly solid play, how much the run game struggled during his play and how much it improved once Ryan returned.  That could be due to a lot of different things, but it's always been in the back of my mind...  regardless, this is a great bargain and quality extension for us

I agree. He is a tier 1 back-up and serviceable starter. I'd be interested to see if more experience wouldn't help him because that's what makes Kalil so good. Center is the most cerebral position on the line, if he can wrap his head around the mental aspects of the position and adjust the line even remotely like Kalil can, we've got our center of the future on the roster.
