Point is, picking up Leonard and Tyler is "not trading away your future". They are relatively young. They are future.

The biggest issue with trading for players is you are getting a player that has been in the league for a few years, and is nearing the end of the contract. Drafted players, outside the first round, are very cheap labor for the first 5 or so years in the league.

We are strapped as far as the cap is concerned. We are that way, because we have not drafted well, and have had to trade to stay competitive.

Steelers.....Panthers....totally different patterns.

He won't ha e the opportunity to.

When they tagged Pep and couldn't get rid of him and made as little moves they did I thought they were just stabalizing the cap for the next guy.

Add the Richardon boys getting tanked and that spells new regime next year.

Why do anything exotic on offense/defense knowing that?

I actually like the trade. And truthfully when you look at what we have we aren't missing all that much outside of the first rounder. Our own fifth and sixth are gone, but we have Oakland's sixth which I'd expect to be higher than our own.

Five picks still out of seven, so we're not flirting with a Redskins type draft yet.
