Training Camp - Day 4 Updates

From what I could see, which wasn't much because all the important action was on the far field, Garrett Gilbert look absolutely horrible at the Sunday practice.  Really not comfortable with him.  Hope we can pick up a good vet to back up Cam.

I wasn't a happy camper about all the action on the far field.  I guess I didn't notice it in years past because I was younger and just moved to where I could see somewhere along the fence on the far sides.  But now that I'm older and have some health issues I stayed put on the hill.

Why do you think they run most of the practice on that far field?  So the players can stand in the shade of the trees?  So they aren't distracted by the fans?  I guess I can understand for those two points.  Not sure it's worth it for me to travel the long distance I do to watch practice anymore.  Except for about 4 years, including the last 2, I've not missed a year of visiting camp.  May only return if to bring grandchildren.

Would you think so if your 5-year old child was at practice, trying to get an autograph from his idol?

Gotta see the big picture--this is a business with a family entertainment brand.  OK with a helmet outside the range of children's ears, but to do so when kids are around, no place for it.  I get the chest-pounding, macho side of the game, but the fans pay the bills.  Besides, this game has whistles and time outs and a break every five seconds.  Not exactly war.

Idk. I'd parent and say "hey 5 year old mista-....child of mine. That's an adult saying that word. When you're older, you can say those words. Don't now though because those are adult only words".

I don't want people upset by cussing fuging with my favorite athlete's 1st Amendment rights. You raise your kid to understand and survive society. Quit asking society to water itself down to bail you out from parenting.

They have two fields to practice on and rotate from one to the other. Practice chews the turf up pretty well, I suspect it is to give the grounds crew time to get it maintenanced.

Because fans insist on videoing all of their plays and posting them to social media. Yesterday one fan had field access and Facebook lived the whole thing. This is also going to be the reason why the team inevitably will start reducing fan access to practices (like other teams are doing).

That too, but they have been rotating fields from before social media. It hasn't really changed at all. Back in the day they also used the third field where no fans can get close to.

history tells us you should always rotate crops...that's why we don't have iodine in our food anymore.

Last year they used that far field four or five days in a row.

Pretty sure nobody would complain about Amini having a good season.

It's just that a lot of people doubt his ability to do that.

Agreed you just hope with enough practice reps he cuts down on his mental errors that he has never been able to avoid.

It's the same think we do with my 7 yea old when we watch movies that have language.

"Son, you're gonna hear some words in this movie that we don't use in this house. If I ever hear you using them, the only movies you'll watch will be Veggies Tales all the time, got it?"
