DW. Dislocated patella and torn mcl

Read quickly that kneecap dislocation takes 6-8 weeks to heal but MCL will be the one that keeps him out longer. Anxious to see what David Chao (former NFL doc) has to say on Twitter about a timetable to return.

Not that we need any injuries but we certainly don't need any on the o-line.. This won't be a good season if we can't protect Cam.

Former NFL doctor said he could rehab and try to play through it like Trent Williams did last season with hit or miss effectiveness but that the better option would be surgery and “regroup” for 2019 :(

Just 3 days into training camp and we may have lost a player for the year, a tackle of all things.

Looks like it is possible for him to return this season, but not recommended bc its high risk.

Not sure if it's a full or partial tear. Dislocated patella and a partial mcl tear can both take about 6-8 weeks to fully heal, which is actually great news, as opposed to an ACL tear which almost always requires surgery and has a 6 month recovery time minimum.

This is the exact injury that ended my illustrious career. High School career that is, dislocated patella and MCL tear. He will be in a cast for 6 weeks, then he will have to re-mobilize the joint and build strength. Most likely we will see him again next year.
