Speed on offense was the focus for the Panthers during the offseason and wide receiver Jarius Wright calls it a success based on what he's seen so far in training camp.

It's not for depth. It's because it actually makes sense. Pairing a guy who is making a move over with a LT who isn't that great is a good way to get your QB killed.

Cuts typically don't produce lineman.

I have never seen a player get all the first team reps just to not end up being the guy when the games start. 

But then again "Coach of the year" has all the smartz.
