McCaffrey and Smith again the first ones out here for practice.

Nobody freak out about this observation. But on a second team rep in an OL drill, Taylor Moton was at LT and Tyler Larsen was at LG. Third team was Hearn at LG.

Like we saw in the spring, Alex Armah is going through position drills with the tight ends.

Chris Manhettz joins the bike crew today.

New tight end Cam Serigne getting an earful during blocking drills currently: "Correct yourself! I told you that last time so correct it."

Man, Garrett Gilbert has a cannon.

Fairly light turnout here at Wofford for the second practice. Same several guys sitting out with injuries: Cox, Samuel, Ross, Peppers, Manhertz.

Lightest crowd I can remember for a day two.

Daryl Williams drew some praise for “picking his man up off the ground,”according to Coach Matsko, in a blocking drill.

They always split the offensive line into two groups for drills - starters/depth guys and third/fourth strong. John Matsko just called Brendan Mahon over to the big boys group.

Same initial starters as yesterday: Silatolu at LG, Seymour at CB. Gonna take a few days - and some padded practices - to start seeing movement.

Brendan Mahon got a nod from coach Matsko just now to come up and clang with the second teamers in pad drills just now. Keep an eye on him.

Kevon Seymour gets the nod for first reps at corner opposite Bradberry. Silatolu at LG.

Some good news - Manhertz is able to walk and do light rehab work without the boot on.

Greg Van Roten getting some extended run at center today in multiple drills.

Greg Van Roten getting first-team reps at center. Ron Rivera said they would be limiting Ryan Kalil’s reps to try to get him through the entire season.

Heinicke hits -guess who- Damiere Byrd on a nice comeback route.

    • There is merit to the points you're making here. On the flip side one could argue it took us investing 150 million in the oline for him to have a breakout season. And he has still yet to hit 1k rushing yards in a season. As far as Brooks goes the position does not require that significant of a draft investment for many other teams. That's not being negative it's just a matter of fact. The 49ers did quite well with a UDFA running back while McCaffrey was out. It is understandable that some people have concerns. That being said it boils down to whether or not you believe in the player. We just have to see what happens with him and Brooks.
    • Okay, that day in Vegas had to embarrass him completely. Andy showed him how to do the job.  What I think when I go there, why did it take Andy? He has had game after game of watching actual NFL QBs work and that didn't do it?  Anyhow Andy did not mess around, he stood in there and did his job and got rid of the ball ahead of the pressure. Down the field. With the same players Bryce had. Night and day.  If that didn't wake him up nothing ever would. But I don't think he has any sort of top NFL QB in him, he just lacks the full tool kit.
    • Team is dangerous right now, all four lines are contributing and the speed at which the guys play at is tremendous.
