No where near the same comparison. Wright was a third down machine in Minny.

He had less than 200 yards in a full season last year and 67 yards the year before in 8 games. I like the signing and I do think he can be another Cotch-like possession guy for us but the early offseason hype with him sounds awfully familiar... Moore, Funch and Smith will almost certainly all be ahead of him and maybe even Samuel/Byrd. And yeah I understand we gave him a fairly large signing bonus so he’s probably guaranteed a roster spot but all I’m saying is hold your horses on hyping him up...

Shepard never caught an actual pass before he got here did he?

I do and am excited to have improved on him significantly.

Until saca makes a hype thread for him he stands a chance.

Haha.

I’m indifferent on Wright. May be the best shot he’d got then.

Pretty excited about adding both Moore and Wright.

I do appreciate Torrey too, but more for his leadership perhaps than what his on field production will be, though his being a deep threat will be very important IF he catches a reasonable amount of his targets.

Our coaches may have a very difficult decision who gets on the field from our WRs. Typically we often only have had 4 active on game day, though that may have been skewed by the years we had Joe Webb actuve as an emergency WR.

We've got 6 guys that all could provide real value at WR. Look how Byrd flashed last night.  Who would you sit among our top 6 WRs?!  Glad I'm not a coach.

Unless Moore, Funch, and Smith are injured, they will be active. It looks like Wright will be a lock as well. Byrd's KR duties may give him the leg up over Samuel, especially if he stays PUP for long.

All I know is that after Cam trying to pull  wins outta his ass with a one armed Funch, Bersin, Shep, and Clay, it's a great problem to have!

I thought he had like 500 yards for tampa

Shep's 2016 Tampa stats: 23 catches for 341 yards and 2 TD's.

Wright's 2017 Min stats: 18 catches for 198 yards and 2 TD's. The difference is that Wright had productive (if now awe inspiring)2012-2015, averaging 444 yards and 2 TD's.

Well his 341 yards in the 14 games before we signed him were more than Wright has had his past 2 years and 24 games... Please don’t get me wrong I’m excited about Wright and am in no way comparing him to Shepard as a player, I think Wright is way better. I’m just saying slow down with hyping him up so much this early in camp. Shep was hyped up a ton too by all our media.
