New Panthers owner David Tepper has arrived on the practice field. It is the start of a new era here. The question is will Tepper leave training camp at Wofford when he builds a new practice facility near Charlotte? Wofford officials want the camp to stay here beyond the current deal that ends in 2019 and have let Tepper know. He has yet to respond. A plane pulling a banner that said "Keep camp in Spartanburg" flew over the practice field onThursday night.

New Panthers owner David Tepper is at Wofford College for FanFest and the Panthers' first practice. Former owner Jerry Richardson, a Wofford graduate who has changed the landscape of the campus with donations, still has a presence in the form of this statue outside the Richardson building.

Former NBA star Rasheed Wallace (wearing red Chiefs jersey) spends a few seconds with Panthers DE Julius Peppers. Both are former University of North Carolina basketball players. Peppers ran into Wallace on the way to the training room. He begins training camp on PUP as he continues to rehab his shoulder after offseason surgery. There are no current concerns he won't be ready for the season.
