And everyone pooed me for saying it was a wasted pick lol. Guilty or not awful pick

I didn’t like the pick, either. I thought it was boring, and basically the Panthers were drafting for depth at one of their strongest position. I also had a hunch that after they drafted Vernon, it basically meant Star was going to be let go after his contract expired.

I hated this pick when they drafted him. You have to be fair and wait for more facts to come out, but not looking good for Ol’ Vernon at this point in his career. You know Tepper will make an example out of him if he has to, and of course he should if Butler did this.

What a terrible fuging draft pick.

It was insurance if KK wanted to hold out and reset the market. Is what it is at this point.

Look at the rams and Donald there's a reason everyone's getting paid but him. Won't shock me if they go DT early next year

I thought it meant we wouldn’t sign KK since they’re both more pass rushing DTs. But agreed, I didn’t, and still don’t know why we drafted a DT when it was one of our strongest positions. Obviously the team signed poe to replace star bc it didn’t feel good about butler starting (I have already acknowledged that he isn’t a run stopping type, hopefully someone won’t respond saying that for a reason why he couldn’t start)

I understand that they can't follow everyone, but I would think that certain players party it up more than others, or that high round draft choices would receive priority. I've always thought there really needs to be a mentoring program mandatory for all players to help transition these guys from little money to having a lot, and everything that goes with it. I remember seeing a couple of pros doing this type of thing for NBA rookies years ago after the draft, but haven't heard much about it since.

I believe most, if not all teams have a head of Player Development/Engagement that deals with this sort of thing. It is usually a former player that has been in their shoes and lived their lives. They prepare guys for the league off the field and give them the tools and information needed to be successful. Whether or not certain players take that advice is ultimately up to them.

Just looked it up... that man is Mark Carrier for the Panthers
