Matt Moore starting is highly unlikely....

Normally the guys on Sirius NFL doesn't just make up stuff...I'm sure there are guys who play w/ Jake that question his arm and it being strong. You would have to question it based on what he has done....you would have to question it unless you were just bias and shoot down anything negative about Jake. Jake is the only guy who has remotely been able to come back from Tommy John...there ain't much to reference when talking about a QB. Jake has a lot of issues from the looks of things....but you keep on telling everyone on the board they are dumb they are for questioning the play of Jake. Obviously, his play is irrelvant in your mind....

Another load of crap packaged as an argument. Adam Schein, Solomon Wilcox, and Randy Cross for example rarely have any sources and rarely are accurate about anything. The only guys on Sirius I would believe are Gil Brandt, Tim Ryan and Pat Kirwin.

And again give me one credible source that says his arm is not stronger than it was before the surgery. If you don't have one, get off it.

There have only been 3 quarterbacks in the NFL who have had TJ surgery and Delhomme was the only one who was a starter so there is hardly enough guys to make a negative conclusion. On the other hand there is a huge body of evidence to support that pitchers routine recover from TJ surgery sometimes multiple times.

No one thinks Jake is doing well and I totally understand people questioning his play. I have questioned it as well. Like my signature says though, if you are going to bash him and make accusations, at least be accurate and fact based instead of off the wall and out in left field with nothing to base your opinions on.

Since 2007 he has actually looked worse which has been a huge disappointment to the team and the fans who saw him at Jake's heir apparent.

Anybody with even a small amount of common sense wouldnt think a QB who was so bad in college he almost cost his coach his job would be the heir apparent to anything.

Orton threw 5 int's in the pre-season, and look at him...

Just saying you can't judge a guy based on pre-season performances.

Kyle Orton was a standout college player who was actually drafted, and Denver felt comfortable enough in to trade Jay Cutler. If Matt Moore was cut tomorrow, his NFL career would be over.

He has not played a down of legit football since 2007. Your making assumptions again w/ nothing substantial to base it off of.

Moore has played w/ backups, guys working at Wal-mart, and has taken a few snaps of garbage time football. You only give Peyton Manning reps in those conditions and he will look to have taken a step backwards also.

The only thing we know for a fact is Jake currently is horrible.

This response always makes me laugh because Matt Moore was playing against backups and guys working at Wal Mart now and was still complete garbage.

As for 2007, he was playing with a playbook that was incredibly simplified down.

Except for the fact that very few QBs who are worth a crap in the NFL went undrafted. In any given year, there are 2-4 starting. Some positions are more prone to talented undrafted players(especially o-line, DTs, and those in the secondary). QBs are so scrutanized that if they go undrafted there is usually a reason. In Moore's case, being awful.

And please, quit bringing up Kurt Warner. He graduated from a 1AA school in BFE Iowa in 1994. He had about as much a chance at getting drafted as I did.

Jake Delhomme went undrafted because he really wasnt very good at any aspect of football. He was never that accurate, his arm was pretty average, he wasnt all that great at reading defenses, and even in his prime he has the mobility of a senior citizen. Not to mention that is likely among the worst decision makers in the history of NFL QBs. Only guy I have ever seen routinely throw it into triple coverage trying to force it to Steve Smith when he has open receiver(s) 10 yards in front of him. Jake Delhomme is what he is, a painly mediocre/average in his prime QB who would have been a career backup if he had ended up anywhere but Charlotte.

There are very few 1st round drafted QB's that are worth a crap too, and they get more chances.

We don't need a super star QB, we just need a QB you won't turn the ball over 3 times a game. I think Moore can do that. No ones is asking Moore to be the next Brady. We just want to give him a shot to be better than Delhomme, thats all the fans are asking.

^Agreed and

showing me nothing is ten times better than showing me 10 int's in 5 games

Agreed.

13 int in 6 games...plus like 6 or so fumbles...and I won't mention his 11 sacks for over 100 yards lost because our o-line is to blame for those.

Just making stuff up now. Over half of the starting QBs in the NFL were 1st rounders.

And judging by your love of Matt Moore, I am guessing you have seen very little of him. He was crap in college, he was average at best with a Pop Warner playbook in 2007(and crap against Dallas, a team that had some info on him), and has been garbage in the preseason for 2 straight years along with when he has gotten into games.

Were you this anxious to turn the reigns over to Brett Basanez as well? If so, I think you are just wanting to put in anyone whos name is not Jake Delhomme.

I agree that the Panthers need a new QB, but turning the team over to a guy who doesnt have the talent to play, let alone start, in the NFL is a horrible idea. A 1-4th round QB should of been drafted and groomed a long time ago. Its pathetic how the Panthers FO has ignored the QB position.

This is such a stupid argument, nobody knows how Moore would respond to starting (there is an idea based on past experiences + and -), so the only thing to do is try it out. At this point anything is better than that shithead Delhomme. What do we really have to lose? And what has Delhomme done lately other than turn the ball over? We aren't going to the play-offs and we are lucky if we get to .500.

.

Anyone with any common sense or football knowledge would know that college success often has little to do with success in the NFL particularly on teams that use the spread offense, option or other non-traditional pro offense. So you have to look at other kind of measurables as well as mechanics, private workouts etcetera. Moore passed those and looked good in the preseason for Dallas as well as the starts in the 2007 season. That was enough to see his potential and expect that he will improve each year with more experience.

Matt played pretty damn good in those 3 games. He damn near lead us to a victory against the Cowboys. (which the refs fvcked us). 3 of those picks were in garbage time that season. The Seahawks and Cowboys had something to play for so no he didn't play against scrubs each game either.

I'm not saying he's the answer but Jake can' be allowed to keep sucking.

You don't have a clue what you are talking about. Jake went undrafted because he went to the University of Louisiana at Lafeyette. As a true freshman he imm:beatdeadhorse5:ediately showed his ability with the second highest passr rating as a freshman that year. By the end of his senior year he ranked 22nd all time in the NCAA for passing yards and 28th in offense. That is why he was drafted.

He bounced around in europe and with the Saints but he always played fairly well in preseason and many folks wanted him to start over Brooks and Blake.

As for playing for us he came in and was very good immediately. He has been good at reading defenses and until his injury late in 2005, was very accurate hence the probowl year. Since then his accuracy and arm strength diminished until 2007 when his arm fell apart. The rest everyone knows.
