Matt Moore starting is highly unlikely....

When we signed Testeverde off the couch, Moore had been on the team less than 2 months, didn't know the system, playbook and had no experience playing with the team except for a few plays against New Orleans. He had no experience with the starters. When Carr got hurt we signed Vinny in October Vinny won in Arizona and was doing great against Indy until he got hurt.

Moore came in when Vinny couldn't stay healthy and Carr was awful. Moore was the only guy we had.

Since 2007 he has actually looked worse which has been a huge disappointment to the team and the fans who saw him at Jake's heir apparent.

Yes this is true and isn't amazing how well Moore did when we finally did throw him in there? He did barley knew our offense and was just arriving, 3rd/4th string, yet he still did better than Vert, and Carr, at least in my opinion given those circumstances. Maybe he shouldn't have started RIGHT away, but we pulled Carr and Vert way too late in my opinion.

Moore should have had more playtime and gained more experience. Where is Carr and Vert now? Not with us.... but Moore still is. So I really think we missed out of seeing more of and giving experience to a guy we are obviously sticking with.

Seems like every time Moore has been in there he seems to make a couple good throws then a bad decision that gets picked. The suck margin between him and Delhomme is shrinking though. I don't think he is a savior but it's still a bit too early to give up on Delhomme. Jake can still do a better job reading the D and checking into the right play at the line. There is more to it than just throwing the ball. Once we get mathematically eliminated we will see Moore and AJ.

He has not played a down of legit football since 2007. Your making assumptions again w/ nothing substantial to base it off of.

Moore has played w/ backups, guys working at Wal-mart, and has taken a few snaps of garbage time football. You only give Peyton Manning reps in those conditions and he will look to have taken a step backwards also.

The only thing we know for a fact is Jake currently is horrible.

I doubt if Peyton would throw picks against "backups, guys working at Wal-mart". The defenses weren't first string in the Preseason either.

Ok, you give Peyton Manning a crap OL (backups and guys that can't make rosters) and crap WRs (same criteria as the OL) and you think he isn't look much worse than he is? Doesn't matter the defenses suck if everything around him sucks also.

Also, you stick Peyton Manning in only during a 4th quarter blowout after the game has been decided and he won't look that great either. His team could quit at that point, the opponent is playing harder than ever, and his job at that point is to be one dimensional his entire time and sling the rock.

If those two scenarios are ALL you had to judge Manning on...he would not look as good as he really is. That is basically an exaggerated scenario of what people do w/ Moore. Compare his starts vs. unfair scenarios to judge him...then claim he now sucks.

Thank you, a man with some sense.. It's ridiculous to claim more can't do anything because of his pre-season games

My point was that Moore looked poor in preseason against 3rd string D's playing with 3rd string O players. Peyton would look better because he is better. I have seen enough of Moore to believe he would do little better than Delhomme. They both make bad reads and throw picks. Delhomme's experience wins out for now.

You are making my point. Thank you. Why in the world would we trust our offense to a guy who had ridden the pines for 2 years and when he has played, he has sucked.

As many have said, the backup is always the most popular guy on the team. That is until he gets in and people realize that our offense won't suddenly be fixed if Moore is in there.

But argue on for sure. I bet another 30 posts and you will sway the FO.

Because he has only played when the Panthers have been playing from behind. Not an ideal time for a QB to come in and get in a rhythm.

We won't know what Moore is made of until he gets a start.

Same reason we are trusting our offense to guy who's sucked the last 6 games he's played.

12 turnover's in 5 games... 18 in 6 games if you count the Arizona game... argue all you want, but anything is better than a guy averaging 3 TO's a game and constantly keeping the other team in the game.

Moore may have looked bad w/ scrubs.....even great QBs will struggle w/ poo around them. Jake is playing w/ some of the best talent in the NFL and looks horrible.

You must be kin to Fox or Jake....b/c there is no logic at this point to not look at another option. That isn't saying commit to it.

Also, no one is trying to sway the FO from this message board. I think since you often resort to that quip it is just pointing out how weak of an arguement you can make for sticking w/ Jake.

Exactly. No on is saying he is the answer. I think people are just getting curious at what he is capable of. And if Jake keeps bombing games, and with our division leaders with 0 and 1 losses.... what do we have to lose? Unless we somehow get to be a 6-3 team by the midseason or so, I say see what he's got, in many different games, in many situations, versus many different styles and opponents.
