Breaking down the Smith situation

Mr. Scot

Recommended Posts

I know people would say just shut up and block. But I bet his contract incentives are not based on team rushing stats and how many times he is used as a "decoy". Receivers dont make probowls by being good blockers, if that were the case Moose would be a HOF.

Granted, I am a team player, and I know how important being on the same page is. He should have probably smiled and said no comment.

Don't forget about the group that should have never been hired as a coach. Yeah Zorn, I;m loooking right at you. Norv Turner? you get over there too! :D

Norv Turner is an enigma.

He should have never been hired as a coach... but he's had like 100 jobs. It makes no sense, and there is no logical explanation for it.

Steve is an emotional guy. We all know that and we all love that about him. I would rather him goof up and be ejected from a game *Dallas*, break a nose *Lucas*, and make some off the wall comments *Tampa*, than have a vanilla attitude. Gotta take the good with the bad when it comes to Steve. Can't have that kind of fire and emotion without it boiling over from time to time.

Steve Smith is usually Jakes defender, first and formost. But that is gone. Jake is the problem for steve smith, plain and simple. Bad timming, yes, but truth in what he said. Even if smitty lost a half step, he's better than 80% of the other wideouts in the league. Jake is done. He cant even game manage anymore, so how is smitty suppose to get his touches? And all of the top receivers in the league feel as though, they're open on every play, or should get plenty of touches. From Smitty, to Fitzgerald, A. Johnson, etc. Comes with the territory.

Steve Smith - WR Oct. 20 - 9:10 am et

Panthers coach John Fox says teams are double teaming Steve Smith more than he's used to.

Smith was hot under the collar after catching just one ball in the Week 6 win over the Bucs. He has 21 catches through five games and hasn't caught a touchdown pass since Week 15 of 2008. Smith will be helped by the improvement of Carolina's running game, which is finally hitting on all cylinders.

Hey John maybe if you're starting QB wouldn't be riding the bench on 95% of the teams in the NFL you wouldn't have this problem.

Oh and John start Kenny Moore and put Moose in the slot (he's a better matchup there anyway).
