The Panthers chose to back out of the deal. They weren't required to do so. And it's being reported that he's healthy now.

If he actually has a really good year like was expected, there are people who are probably going to be royally pissed.

Not me though, honestly. When you judge a past decision, you always have to look at what you knew at the time. using that criteria, I think the team made the right call.

I agree.  Have to go with the facts at the time.

Team absolutely made the right call, I just don't understand why we have to get topics about him lol he isn't a panther, never was, and never will be.

And I’ll never understand why posters find it necessary to complain about a topic, repeatedly, when it is very easy to just NOT click on the thread. Then post in that thread just to complain. I wasn’t aware that Igo had the power to force people to read every thread.

When to comes to your feet, they are very important. Feet take longer to heal than most, because of the function. You can get necrosis in your foot, that can cause nerve damage. Also, some infections can cause autoimmune disorders in which the body attacks its own cells.

My only question is this.. If the infection was big enough to cause nerve damage, how did it happen? The guy had the money to take care of the problem. Was he just not informed enough to think it was a big deal? Did he get some flesh eating virus from the cut? Who knows.

He was in the Dominican Republic when it happened. Maybe he didn't get the appropriate medical care and by the time he got back to the states it was already FUBARed? Who knows?

I always wondered if the Panthers voided the deal more because of how bad the cut was, or because he lied about it/didn't disclose it. Probably both.

I think if we thought he would've been good to go we would've signed him anyway. The medical team probably just decided there was too much uncertainty and risk there to give him $8.5M guaranteed. It wasn't like we were giving him a veteran minimum contract or something. We were about to sink some pretty serious money into him.
