The Key to Steve Smith in week 7 against the Bills......

As everyone has mentioned, Steve Smith is pissed off. I would be too. However Smith might not be seeing the open door that the game against the Bucs made.

Because of the 250+ yards we laid on the ground against the buc's, the Bill's will stack 8 and 9 in the box to start the game.

This will open up the passing game and give a lot of 1 on 1 matchups for Smith.

I know everyone wants more from Smith including himself, well this game will give him the chance he needs.

I predict that we will see a different Steve Smith on Sunday, and that will open up our running game once again to exploit a poor Bills defense.

This game could give us the chance we need for our offense to get balanced and in rhythm.

The REAL QUESTION is why HAVE WE NOT used MOORE or JARRETT more???

These are two young guys who can open up the field.

I blame this on the coaches....

If Jake can't throw the ball because the Oline can't protect him, (and he has no pocket presence) and Smith is doubled all day because we don't have more receivers on the field, nothing will change. I say 60 carries between DWill and JStew. That is the only way Jake will look good. And we will still only win the game by 4 points.

But if we win then its Ok right? Or would you rather Steve Smith gets 250 yards and we lose a tight high scoring game? Fox is maddening sometimes with his coach speak, but really all that matters is we win.

Yeah a win is good, duh. But a 4 point win against a bad team is just a polished turd. Like Sunday against the Bucs and the week before against the skins and last year against the Raiders and Lions. Polished turds all of them.

While your theory would be true in most cases its not gonna work here. Every team since week one has been loading the box on us. The thing is every team is zoning to Smith. If they dont zone to him they put a CB in the box and put the S and CB covering him or they go Cover 1 and shadow Smith. This leaves Moose to the the other CB and he cant do it...... Now like you said the real question is why Moore and Jarrett have not been used to stop this.

Our Offense is really simple this year.

We use the I-form and PA prob 90% of the time. If not that its the Wildcat or Shotgun when we are in long down and distance. I dont think I have seen the Single back set all year. Cause we are so simple teams know what to expect and good ones can just shut us down.....
