  1. 1. How so?

    • Having any type of winning record even if we miss the playoffs (Having back to back winning seasons the first time in franchise history)
      8
    • Having a great record regardless of what we do in the playoffs (Ex. 12-4 or better)
      10
    • Sweeping the Saints and winning division (Reguardless of what we do in the playoffs)
      7
    • Winning 1 playoff game
      15
    • Winning 2 playoff games
      11
    • Getting to NFCCG
      34
    • Winning NFCCG
      3
    • Get to SB
      10
    • Win SB (for this one you would consider anything else a failure)

It is clear at this point that those in power love Colin Jones. I will be surprised if he is cut. Regardless, that safety group is thin, old or inexperienced,, and worrisome. I understand that the Panthers specifically and the NFL in general tend to devalue the position; however, I still wonder if the Panthers are not still in the market for a safety.

Winning games and firing Hurney

Having both happen is unlikely.

I think it'll either be a fantastic season with double digit wins which means Hurney stays or it'll go south in a hurry, limp to like 6-10 and Tepper blows the whole thing up with Rivera, Hurney and maybe even the ball boys gone.

Hurney still has to prove that he is capable to the new owner. His skills were tailored to being JR's yes-man GM, not a singing endorsement for competency. There are a number of ways he could fail at being a GM from this point onward. I would think that the record reflects more on Rivera then Hurney. When Tepper hires a new President, Hurney will have a non-JR person in a position of power that is Tepper’s guy. Most of the people in high positions in the NFL work for different teams and peoples to acquire skills and knowledge, Hurney was picked because he would do JR’s bidding, a skill that is no longer desired here. Only time will tell.

Tough to answer until I see how good everybody else is but I want to make it at least to the Divisional Round and if we do lose it needs to be to a team that I feel is equal or better as opposed to an inferior team where we either played poorly or got bad bounces.

This team knows how to win and how to get to the playoffs. This team has proven they can get to the big game. This team beat a SB team just last  year. We have the same coaches by staff and more or less big players. What this team hasn’t proven is consistency. There is no reason to have anyless expectations than NFC Championship to be considered successful.

Since this is the last season for Davis and Peppers (what's Ryan Kalil's contract like?), I think there is a pretty high sense of urgency to get to SB again and take home the Lombardy. I'm not saying this isn't every team's goal year in and year our, it's just that this year is pretty important for the team. Especially now under a new ownership and all...

I think they will collectively try the hardest they've ever tried to win it all, and honestly, I know they can.

Never posted despite following this board since the days of PFFL wreaking havoc. Been a fan since the start, remember being excited to play with my home team in like madden 96 or some poo as a kid lol. Been through the ups and downs as you all know of our team being literally the most inconsistent team in the NFL; win in our odd years, lose in the even. Cared probably too much in 2015 through that incredible season and the Super Bowl ended up leaving me absolutely devastated and almost depressed. I then lost my father a few months after that (the guy who took me to my first panthers game when i was 12 in 2003 when stephen davis ran for 150+ yards on the falcons) and it kind of changed my perspective on what matters. Successful season to me now is just winning 9+ games, hopefully getting to the playoffs, and having just an overall enjoyable season. Things like watching mccaffrey grow through the season and funchess coming into his own after benji was traded are fun to watch. Watching Cam and Luke go to work every Sunday is a luxury we should enjoy. Ya, losing to the saints in the playoffs last year sucked, but it was still a fun year to be a panthers fan. Just enjoy your Panther Sundays cause the season is short. Lol despite all this, I hope the team feels different than me is aiming for the top
