Anyone else relieved that Tepper has finally taken over?

Its been difficult for me to get too excited this offseason with the org in limbo.

Now that the new owner is in place and leadership is there at the top, I feel relieved. Just in time for training camp. We are lucky this thing did not drag on for months, it very well could have.

Lets get it.

Do you think Hurndog is excited?

I guess I am relieved. I'm sure he'll have an impact on the team, but honestly, for this year there wasn't going to be a whole lot of impact on the team performance.

I think just his presence lights a fire under all coaches and staff to perform this year because they may not be back next season if they don't.

Disagree, big time.

Everyone is on the hot seat.

I guess I’m not a big believer on the hot seat making people better. I think they’ll play like they want to win if they want to win. If Rivera changes his coaching style then he’s not a good coach to start. It’s like that stupid notion of contract years. Never made a difference when I played fantasy. Some people believed in that, I just won a lot.

Maybe Cam will be looser but it always seemed to me that he was already who he was. Doing more on instagram isn’t going to make him better. Norv being there may, but not Jerry being gone. If he has an MVP year, do you think it’s more because of Jerry leaving or because he got WRs and Norv?

If you are superstitious then Jerry leaving on a sour note and the Panthers finally winning a Super Bowl without him would be a fitting end. That said, I’d think it was more with young guys stepping up and an OC who doesn’t suck.

The hot seat doesn't necessarily make people better but it usually does make them more aggressive. It just so happens that Ron seems to be a better coach when he's being aggressive. It's aggressive Marty Hurney that scares the poo out of me.

@Jeremy Igo I felt very much like you do, in limbo. I had little enthusiasm. Things will change even on the field. It can't be avoided. But now I'm sparked, excited. Because I want to see Dave Tepper smash the idea that teams with a new owner are not winning teams in the owner's 1st year. Because now I can pull for the entire Panther family and feel positive about it.

Yes, I think it bodes very well not only for this season but for the Panthers chances going forward. Richardson, although seemingly revered by the players and other owners, was very old and a closeted creepazoid. Tepper brings a fresh and brash businesslike approach, ala Dave Gettleman. I would have been curious if they would have worked well together. But overall I think the Panthers ended up with a good owner and I'm glad the Richardson scandal is finally over.
