Chiefs fan here.

You guys got a good young DT for only a 5th. He's our best DT that was just starting to blossom. It usually takes 2-3 years for a DT to really come on strong. When he was drafted he was graded out as a late 1st rounder but some off the field issues pushed him to the 3rd. Since he was drafted though, he's had zero off the field issues and has been a good locker room guy.

His rookie year, he really struggled...which was expected. His second year, he was our best DT and made some really good plays for us on otherwise very poor Dline. Then...we went to the 3-4 and he started the first 3 games and I thought he did a decent job considering he's not a zero technique NT. I'm starting to doubt the whole change to a 3-4 but it is what it is...

I think he could be a real steal for only a 5th for you guys.

I along with the intelligent amongst us appreciate you taken some time to give us a chiefs fans perspective on Tyler. Wish all NFC south fans could be as polite.

Liked watching this kid in college, was hoping he would go somewhere that can actually develop talent. Unfortunately, he went to the Chiefs and took up residence on one of the worst lines in the NFL.

He won't make a huge difference, but he'll handle the workload better than any of the other options we have, especially after a few weeks of work. Plus, with youth on his side and experience as a starting NT in the NFL, here's a bone for the "fire fox" crowd: a new head coach now has one more piece in place if they decide to switch to a 3-4 defense. Yeah, I know, not much starting experience and he sucked even then but shut your ***** mouth.

And before anyone mentions that he sucks because KC sucks, I'd like to remind you that Shaun Rogers still plays for Cleveland and if you don't consider him the one of the top NTs in the NFL, then you have never seen a football in your life.

Draft Day 2010 is going to be a boring occasion for us. If this pick we traded is from the 2010 draft, we're down to only four picks if I'm not mistaken.

Remember, we'll be getting two compensatory picks for Hangardner/Omyole, since we didn't sign any FAs. Hopefully, they'll both be 3rds but , at least, a 3rd and 5th. Hurney CAN'T trade these.

I like Hurney when it comes to Trades and he has always been good at manging the salary cap. He just makes poor decisions about who to give long term or big money to our own players. He also is average at best at drafting.

I don't really blame him for this one (if we had to get him back). His agent was just a dumb ass who basically fubared our entire season over nothing really. I am sure that a deal could have been arranged to ship him our if he had just signed the damn tag. He should have known that we wern't going to budge. I am more upset about the Gamble and Delhomme deals.

I am upset about the Delhomme deal because it puts us on the hook for a few years, but I believe it saved money this year. Not positive.

Gamble deal was bad just because he's not a shutdown corner... and even if he was, he isn't being used like one in this defense. If you're not gonna use your corners like shutdown corners, why pay for one if you just need serviceable guys back there?
