His rookie year he was a bust. He was unmotivated and showed very poor work ethic. But the last two years I have seen a marked improvement in both his work ethic and play knowledge. And his production on the field has increased. But he is buried behind a good vet who fox loves in Moose. And like I said before he would already be starting if he was as good a blocker as Moose and I think like Rosario there blocking skills are underestimated.

How often does he see the field? Last year he made some very good tough 3rd down conversions. This year I have seen him do better in blocking. There is improvement and you will all see it soon.

I'm not so much upset about the draft picks as I am with the fact that the offense needs a boost from somewhere...I suppose it will have to come from within. There are those who felt like Rosario could be that guy but then he came out and had two dropped passes in a row. Maybe Moore can step up but unfortunately it would take Moose or Smitty getting hurt for that to happen.

As far as Tyler I'm pretty happy with this trade. I agree with the fact that getting a player with starting experience (whether its a bad team or not) for a 5th round guy is a good deal. I think he just adds to our rebuilt DL and should fit in nicely. Another good thing that was mentioned earlier as well as when we traded for Leonard is that when Hurney makes moves like this its hard to say that he needs to go. He couldn't get help there during the offseason and even though they mortgaged some draft picks we still got young players who can help out right now.

This team is gonna have DT's out the ying yang next year when Kemo, Irvin, and Leonard come off of IR. Assuming they don't release one or both of them with an injury settlement before then, that is.

This is the kind of trade I expected. He's a player that could contribute this year and at the very least serves as insurance should Hollis Thomas go down.

Once again Fox is gonna load the D in hopes of somehow making it to the Playoffs with a Run game and a D. This is how he is gonna keep his job in his mind.

I like Hurney when it comes to Trades and he has always been good at manging the salary cap. He just makes poor decisions about who to give long term or big money to our own players. He also is average at best at drafting.

I think Hurney has been a Solid GM. The only moves that have not made since have been the Jake Delhomme and Peppers and I think thats because of Fox if you ask me. IDK how much control over it he has but it seems to be a good bit.

I wouldn't assume that this is a hot seat move. I mean, it's not like we couldn't use another good DT right now, and with all these extra DT's they're gonna have in the off season, that's trade bait for us to get some picks back. Besides that, Damione Lewis, Hollis Thomas, and Kemo are all getting up there in age, so they need some youth at those positions anyway.

I don't see this as a "hot seat" move either. But I do see it as a move that could have benefits now, as opposed to down the line. Define that as you want.

I also say it's a wise move, given that it provides insurance should Hollis Thomas go down. Could also allow for the eventual transition of Thomas to a more rotational role, lengthening his effectiveness.
