I am upset about the Delhomme deal because it puts us on the hook for a few years, but I believe it saved money this year. Not positive.

Gamble deal was bad just because he's not a shutdown corner... and even if he was, he isn't being used like one in this defense. If you're not gonna use your corners like shutdown corners, why pay for one if you just need serviceable guys back there?

It did. But (assuming a CBA renegotiation) it basically assures Jake isn't going anywhere for at least another two seasons. And that just plain blows.

Well, looks like the Chiefs are getting a 5th round from Tank. I'd say that's a good trade for now, since Tank wasn't going to work out as a 3-4 NT. He has a very strong upperbody strength, but that won't do the Chiefs any good as a 3-4 NT, becuase the NT needs to have strong lower body strength, and Tank doesn't have that.

He'll be better suited for a 4-3 DT.

That tells you how dumb Haley is. You need your NT on a 3-4 to be that heavy, but Haley wanted him to lose 50lbs. haha

Yes, he does need to be heavy, but the problem with Tank is that he doesn't have the lower body strength to maintain control of his gap. He was getting pushed back consistently becuase he couldn't stand firm on the area he was supposed to control. That's why he got replaced with Ron Edwards.

Really, Tank isn't a 3-4 NT, far from it. He's a 4-3 DT who can get doubled team, which would free up your "speed" rusher DT. I think he'll fit in your system better than he would in a 3-4.

I wouldn't know, I was just going off on what Tyler can do for you guys, that's all. He probably could get a double-team from a C/G combo, if Carolina decides to blitz a MLB or a OLB doing a stunt-in.

Or a simple DT/DE stunt will work as well.

We do still need a good 3 technique as I don't believe we should keep Lewis' cap number and on the books any longer. Maybe Irvin will be ready but doubt it. Be nice to still have Rashon Harris. I really hate that cut.

Jarrett will be our #2. I saw him make some pretty decent blocks down field the last couple of games. He has shown he can catch the ball when Jake gets it to him. I think blocking is the only thing keeping him from already supplanting Moose.

and as far as #2 receiver goes, in this offense we need a speedy downfield threat with good footwork so he doesn't get jammed by the CB in man coverage.
