2.  Well it still doesn’t explain how the wall suddenly was repaired.  Nor is there any reason for Tormund and crew to be chilling at Castle Black for months.

I guess I can accept the logic addressing the first part that it was all bullshit to appease Grey Worm and Snow would simply be happiest in the real North.   But the 2nd part just highlights how lazy and bad the writing and storytelling was IMO

As Bronn just mentioned, the wall is hundreds of miles long and I believe has numerous castles along it. The part of the wall that was destroyed was far away from Castle Black which is what was shown at the end of the show.

JFC read my post. THE WALL WAS NOT DESTROYED. A part of the wall was broken down at EASTWATCH BY THE SEA.

Who else is gonna be chilling at Castle Black? When Tormund and crew went north, King's Landing arc was unresolved. Maybe they were awaiting further orders? Maybe they prefer to chill there for a bit, make use of the lodgings (not really many NW left to use them) or something like that? Maybe they went further north but came back because they had gotten word Jon was returning to the Wall?

I get wanting to nitpick writing things, but you're picking probably the worst parts of it, lol.

What is the point of the wall or for that matter the Night's Watch anymore?

Isn't it kind of like a prison of sorts?....as Tyrion said "a place to keep bastards and broken men" or something of that nature. Just somewhere to send the outcasts away from "society".

And as far as the wall, that's a big a$$ wall....they wouldn't tear it down plus who knows what other dangers lie in the north. It wasn't just to keep White Walkers out right?

I honestly don't know as I haven't read the books and was just an average viewer of the show but it made good sense to me why both would still be there.

As Tyrion mentioned, it is good for pissing off of. lol

The Night's Watch, as I think they kind of alluded to also, is still a place where society's outcasts/prisoners can be sent to live out their lives rather than rot in a dungeon or be executed.

Plus, not knowing how ancient magics work and all that, there may be an underlying fear of more WWs or worse showing up one day. I mean, we didn't even get to see any grumpkins or snarks.

Also, it is (was) kind of an unofficial border between the legit Freefolk and the Seven Kingdoms. Obviously, Northerners are pretty much Freefolk now, so I guess they'll just leave the wall up (if it doesn't melt, I mean, it is magic too) as a tourist attraction, lol.

They're gonna find some WWs encased/preserved in ice, pull out their blood, do some magic (science) on it and recreate them. Then we'll have this:

...all over again!

The other part that made sense to me that I see people griping about is Bran turning down being the King of Winterfell because "he does not want" but yet he takes over ruling all the other kingdoms.

If Bran can see the past, present, and future he would know that his destiny is to be the King of the 7 (or is it 6 now) Kingdoms so he would turn down being the King of Winterfell and it's not about what he wants but what his destiny is.

Maybe I have that wrong but I am in apparently in the smaller portion of people that thought they wrapped it all up rather well and the main characters (mostly the Starks) all wound up where they belonged in the end. I really enjoyed the show from start to finish and was very much entertained throughout but admittedly had no expectations of what should happen, know nothing about the books, and just let it play out however they wanted to tell it.

They've left it very open to have some direct spinoffs from this show. Where did Drogon take Dany? Will Jon and the Wildlings encounter a new threat in the North? How about Arya's adventures?

They said in the episode that Drogon was flying East. So ... home. Her home.

No. The threat is done. The only threat they'll see is global warming, paved roads, and dubstep.

We'll never know. Maisie will never be Arya again.

I, for one, think the books are going to be wildly different from the show. Fricken Lady Stark is brought back from the dead! What role is she going to play in how the book story shapes out?
