Loved GOT for its character development and clever twists and turns over the years.  However, these last few seasons feel like they've fired all the good writers and brought in people who have never watched the show or read the books to wrap things up.  

I'll watch till the end because I'm so deeply invested at this point, but the series is quickly slipping down my list of all time favorites.

Agreed.  Several years back I really felt this would be the final piece to my Mount Rushmore, but they finally forfeited that last season.  Now I am just hoping it can hold on for a Top Ten finish

Sansa on the Iron throne.  That's my new take.  She was humbled and humilated in Kings landing.  She's been taught by Little Peter and she's learned how to be ruthless and yet fair.  It's her time.  Her character arc makes this totally possible and completes the witches prophecy.

I do not believe she will be on the Iron Throne, but I do think she will rule the North independently.  I will be very upset if she is not in charge somewhere.  I love how she used the information about Jon, she is the best at the game at this juncture (makes sense considering her teacher).

Arya, The Hound, Varys, and Sansa are the only four I care about anymore.  A twist that would somewhat save the last two seasons for me would be if Sansa is responsible for Enron knowing where to ambush Dany.  I would also love Jamie is not on his way to rejoin Cersei but actually to kill her and Arya is off to kill Dany.  I do not feel like any of that will transpire though and I will have to be satisfied with a Cleganebowl

FWIW one of the proposed "leaks" says that a Council of sorts is formed, and it is decided that Bran should rule.

Yeah, I don't get all this hate for Dany. 

She freed the slaves, attempted a peace accord with Cersi to fight the dead (losing a dragon/child in the process), committed her troops/dragons to save the North instead of finishing off Cersi first.  Everyone now somehow thinks she is crazy and her advisers are actively discussing treason.

Meanwhile look a Cersi, sleeping with her brother, killing the King's Hand, killing her husband (the King), torturing people in her dungeon, blowing up the Sept of Baelor with her son's bride and hundreds of others inside, driving her son (the King) to kill himself and disregarded the looming threat to the survival of all humanity while sitting out the great war in the North.

There is plenty of crazy to go around in GOTs.

Dany doesn't even come close to being at the top of that list.

I liked Dany back when she wanted to “break the wheel,” that is clearly not her intention.  Her burning the POW Tarleys alive because they would not bend a knee is enough for me to not want her on the throne.

That being said, you are correct, she has nothing on Cersei in the pure evil department.

Yeah, I used to use this point against Dany as well.

Then it was pointed out to me these two knights were fresh off of killing the last of House Tyrell, so they weren't saints themselves.

It isn't like the Tarleys weren't given every opportunity to save themselves.  

Not sure we can say the same for their recent victims at House Tyrell.

Hell, even honorable Ned Stark cut off the head of a Castle Black deserter who claimed to have seen white walkers (which was actually true).

Bottom line:  This doesn't make Dany crazy, it makes her the Queen of Dragons.

Having said all this, I realize the show is intentionally trying to justify the claims that Dany is crazy with their framing of her.  I'm just not seeing it based on the crazy world she inhabits.  On the contrary, after all the terrible things that have happened to her and those that she has loved throughout the series, she actually seems rather stable.

She could have read the "leaks" but someone on Twitter claims to have seen parts of e5 via Periscope. She said something will happen that will trigger people big time and says it has to do with an assault. If you know the leaks, rethink the definition of "assault" and remember what is said about the Dothraki. Bold choice by the producers if true.

dont get why so many people were outraged over her killing the Tarleys when they refused to bend the knee after being captured. holding POWs is not a tactically sound move to make when you have to fight a war on multiple fronts. if it werent for the burning imagery, how is it any different from killing dissenters, defectors, or other enemies as the show has done countless times?
