Rhaegal. I'm not sure if he died or not when he threw Jon. I know we saw Drogon come back for Dany, but I'm not sure about Jon's dragon.

Unless there's a new, fourth dragon, he lived. There are two flying together in the Ep. 4 trailer. Ghost made it into the Ep. 4 trailer too.

Episode was great.  I was really hoping there'd be more to the night king than just killing him but everything was executed perfectly.   There were serious flaw in the tactics but that's to be expected at this point.  Good pacing and good cinematography despite the horrid lighting.

Bruhs... I found a post on freefolk this morning in which someone claiming to have seen Episode 3 gave out some interesting tidbits. It could be fake, as that is something in which I think the risk runs high before big episodes like this, so take it for what it is worth.

Potential spoilers below. Do not open if you don't want to read something that might be really legit leaks.

  Hide contents

Dies:
Almost everyone in the crypts. Biggest names are Gilly and Missandei. Missandei gets decapitated trying to save the burned face girl. Varys survives the crypts, but gouges his own eyes out after a stare down with The Night King and hearing a "really creepy voice." Little Sam isn't found, and I think it is implied that he's "taken" by the WWs.

Bran. Stabbed by The Night King. Resurrected by Beric (at the cost of Beric's own life, the way it reads.)

Beric. See Bran.

Theon. Killed by The Night King.

Edd. First somewhat major character to bite it.

Podrick

Yohn Royce

Jorah

Lives:
Tyrion and Sansa escape the chaos of the crypts.

Jon has an epic battle with The Night King and pretty much gets his ass whooped, but he manages to stab The Night King with a dagger and wound him, causing him to flee on Viserion.

Arya, who thinks that Gendry has died. She's frantically searching for him, finds him as they flee Winterfell, and they embrace.

Bran. Resurrected by Beric.

Sam

Brienne and Jaime. They fight epicly as a duo, but Jaime takes a lot of wounds. At one point, an undead horse falls on Jaime as well. Brienne basically carries Jaime off the battlefield, and it doesn't look good for him after episode 3. He's wounded pretty bad, it sounds like.

The Hound. Carries Bran at the end of the episode (I'm assuming as everyone flees Winterfell.)

Varys. See above. Now blind, it sounds like.

Dany

Tormund

Other tidbit:

Bronn finds the survivors at the end of the episode.

Again, could be total BS.  But, for me at least, it kinda passes the sniff test.

I didn't think this leak was legit but it seemed plausible.  Then when Edd was the first to die I totally thought it was legit.

Yeah they got me, I have to admit. I thought it sounded legit tbqh. I kinda thought it was off once Mel showed up, though, so I tried to put it all out of my head.

Y'all keep saying there's only 3 episodes left...for a grand total of 6 episodes. I want to throw out a theory that there are actually 7 episodes in this season. There is time blocked off on HBO's schedule on Sunday May 26th, the Sunday after the "last episode" for GoT material called "The Last Watch". Most might think it's just a long recap of the series and an inside look at the production and actor interviews, etc. But I believe it's a full episode. The number 7 has been extremely significant in the show and I think we might be looking at a secret final episode. Just my thoughts.

She is Death (as in the God). That is amazing. I'm glad they didn't take the cheap, wear a face and sneak up approach. She just came from out of nowhere, from above or behind the NK's forces. The gust of wind and she's there. fuging fascinating.

Nah, she's just an assassin. And yes, the gust of wind was a nice touch.

I'm still very confused about Bran and I'm beginning to think we're not gonna get much out of him. He's just the guy who knows history and what may come. Nothing more. Wish he had a bigger role tonight other than being the trap for Arya to have her opportunity.

While it's very possible Bran will lead nowhere ... the NK did want to off the boy. So he is special ... somehow.

I think Arya kills Cersei and I think The Mountain is killed by dire wolves just before that. That's what I want anyway. I think the dire wolves have to be an element just to symbolize the coming of the North.

Very possible Arya gets the kill. And no ... The Hound gets that honor.

Of course, Jon or Dany are gonna die. Possibly one killing the other. Who fuging knows. I'm just ready for next week.

I'm sure it will build back up, but this latest battle totally calmed the tension between the two.

Got to wonder what Bronn will do?

I still think he kills someone we love. I wanted him to kill the ice dragon but that's out the window. Him just changing sides and fighting against Cersei seems weak. That's why I think he kills someone important and escapes.

Theon's closure. When Bran told him he was home, thanked him, and he charged head on into certain death, it was somewhat of a tear jerker for me. It was the ultimate redemption and sacrifice.

This. GREAT scene.

Arya's scenes. Maisie Williams did an excellent job with everything. From "stick 'em with the pointy end" to that final, war ending blow, she was great.

This. My favorite character.

Final episode predictions:

Cleganebowl

I think we get that next week or in E5.

Wildfire 2.0

Yep, but maybe in E5.

Formation of some type of council with several kings/queens, and the retirement of the Iron Throne.

Probably but I hope not.

Yara returns with her fleet and kills Euron, I hope.

She'll definitely join the war. Her killing Euron is sort of tame though. He didn't treat her that bad.

I doubt we get anymore WW's or a new Night King, as I think them, the Giants, and the Children of the Forest are all legit gone now.

Bran is the only one who could turn into a NK. How? No idea. Maybe that's why this NK wanted him dead. He knew Bran was going to replace him.

I didn't catch it at first, but after watching the NK kill scene several times I think it's pretty clear Arya was disguised as one of NK's homies. Just as NK is going to grab his sword it cuts to a WW who turns their head who I believe is Arya, then it cuts to the Arya coming out of nowhere scene. I think after the Red Woman mentioned the "kill lots of blue eyes" line, Arya went into her disguised assassin mode.

Nah. That gust of wind was Arya in assassin mode.

I hope that isn't the end of the White Walkers for good. I was hoping for some interaction with Bran and the Night King, maybe a convo to explain some of the Night King's backstory. Maybe that will come later, who knows. Maybe HBO and the writers know that will be a big part of the GOT prequel they are cooking up.

You just answered your own thought/question.

Did we get a definitive on the fate of Benjen Stark?  Did we actually witness him biting it or was it a shot of him riding into a throng of wights?

He was attacked by wights. I assume he was totally turned at that point so he is now dead.

If it's the latter, then there's the opening of him being the new NK over the next 1000 years.

Why and how?

I would question how Arya could sneak up on the NK and his generals, but then again in the premiere there was that scene where Arya sneaks up on Jon by the tree and he's like "how the fug did you do that?". Seems like the producers anticipated that question being asked and answered it accordingly.

She's a dainty assassin. At the NK did know she was there ... at the last second.

Night King and the entire WW crew.  1 kill in the battle of battles.   Reek.

The more I think about that? They really didn't do the big bads justice.

This. Dude takes direct dragon fire, can raise the dead with a simple dance floor move, said BRING IT to Jon, piolted a dead dragon like Chuck Yeager, had zero cares ... and goes out like a chump. MAYBE put that in E6 after a crazy fight with everyone and that'd be a OMGZ moment.

Part of me wants to believe (it's an impossible belief) that this episode was supposed to be E6 (with a different ending), and the Cersei stuff was supposed to come before but the showrunners switched it up for some reason. But no ... this is how it's supposed to be. Good luck versus King's Landing's forces, Euron's forces, and the Golden Company with like 25 people.

I love that it was Arya to kill in the night king.  It seemed abrupt at first but it makes perfect sense.  The night king was made under a weirwood tree with a dragonglass dagger, he was unmade under a weirwood tree with a valyrian steel dagger.

Also, Arya was aided by followers of all the major religions(as far as the show goes).  She was trained by followers of the many faced god,  she was saved by a follower of the red god(Beric) and someone who was saved by followers of the seven(the hound), and she was given the dagger by  the three eyed raven  -  who represents the old gods.

+2 Dragons and a Dire Wolf (plus maybe some more, if Nymeria shows up)

I don't see Cersei conjuring  a snowstorm to equalize the dragons. I'm thinking, once the Golden Company see them, they'll turncoat. Euron will probably just sail away, lol. Ships will be just as easy of targets as men standing in ranks.

I don't think I mentioned it before, but in next week's preview, Dany saying they were going to rip Cersei out, "root and stem" is a direct callback to both Robb saying it (paraphrasing what Tywin would say to him, knowing he had captured Jaime) as well as Arya saying it while wearing Walder's face (saying that they should have killed all the Starks, not just the ones at the Red Wedding.) I think I have said in this thread too that Cersei had a similar line "this is what ruling is, lying on a bed of weeds, ripping them out by the root, one by one, before they strangle you in your sleep." I still think that is a foreshadowing that she'll either be poisoned by the "valonquar," be it Tyrion or Jaime, or at least being "ripped out," as a weed herself.

Interesting to see how it plays out.

Other theories floating out there that I wonder if are true:

Jon has to kill Dany for some reason (not sure I buy this)
Dany dies in childbirth
Tyrion's betrayal (of note, everyone the "leak" said was in attendance for his trial/this event are indeed still alive)

I think, right now, I just want to know Cersei dies, and Brienne and Tormund get together in the end! HAHA

Benjen should have been turned before, but the Children saved him (if but for a time).  It seemed he had come through a few tight spots as a "not wight/not living" person that appeared so randomly through the show.

It seems it would be an interesting bookend for the series for him to open the first episode as a man and end it as the new NK for the cycle to begin anew (as this has been referenced to be a cycle).

My thought was that the existing NK was previously a Targaryn and that is why he was fireproof.

My biggest fear for the remaining episodes is making sure every character gets their major moment to neatly wrap up their storylines.  The killing of the NK in the middle of the final season is a really nice touch in my opinion.  I'd love a completely blindsided ending like Gendry being the last man standing and taking the throne.

Obviously something is going to happen but it's really not needed.  The dragons can destroy Euron's fleet and then all they have to do is siege KL and starve them out.  It doesn't matter if the GC is 20,000 or 200,00...they'll get torched fighting in an open battle with dragons.
