Maybe the perfect ending for me would be for there to be no more Iron Throne. No more one seat to rule from. Maybe they figure out that they can live more peacefully without someone having to be king or queen.

So this made a question pop into my head...during the Long Night (what maybe 1000 years ago?) and any other time men were battling the NK in the past, what were all the other lands (continents) doing? Like Bravos and Astapor and on and on...

...The NK wants to erase history but only for Westeros? Are all the other civilizations going on about their business with no clue about the NK? If not, there's never any mention of the NK in anything the "Southern" nations have experienced (like an actual winter). I don't remember that being addressed in any of the books (but I've forgotten a lot of the books) nor do I think it's been addressed in the show. Does the NK only have a hard on for Westeros? Because if that's true, that's kinda lame.

The dissolution of the Seven Kingdoms, eradication of the walkers and the Night King, redemption of Jaime Lannister & Theon, Davos adopts an orphan, Bronn does the right thing even though it could mean his death, end of the Targaryan bloodline and deaths of the dragons, death of Cersei, Sandor kills Gregor, Jorah returns to Bear Island an honorable man etc.

but I also secretly hope none of this will happen and we get a 1408 style ending. One that blows our minds. But at this point I'm sure if that's in the cards. In any event the Targaryan's and their dragons need to go. They tilt the world's scales unfairly.

Also I'd like to point out how upset I am that they never gave Jaime an "arm made of a sword" similar to Mortal Combat's Baraka. He's one of the greatest swordsmen in the history of Westeros and how badass would it have been to see him dual wielding Widow's Wail and an arm/sword made of dragonglass. fuging writers man.

From my understanding, Essos IS touched by the Long Night and harsh winters experienced in Westeros. Braavos especially, IIRC. I'll have to look into it more.

But I think Braavos is around the same latitude as either the Neck or the Saltpans, or somewhere that winter indeed touches.

Azor Ahai and all that red priest jazz comes from the far east anyway, I think. It is the story of the Last Hero fighting a "monster."

Likely, it is all drawn from similar mythos depending on the area in which the events happened. Whereas Westeros has Children of the Forest and White Walkers, etc., Essos and the other areas of Planetos have their own tales. A World of Ice and Fire goes into it a bit, but one could only assume things like the Doom of Valyria and the Long Night had far reaching impacts in their times. I think there is some thought that the Dothraki "Ghost Grass" is a sign of winter and could be connected.

It is probably like global warming. If you live in Greenland and study the ice shelf, you are probably going to be more worried about it than Joe Merican who's more worried about MAGA and all that. If that makes sense.

I’ll be real.  If at least half the folks we know don’t die at Winterfell.  I’m just going to change my avatar to Omar Little and join Dex

endings are huge for a series like GOT.  The story means folks gotta go and they got to go in a satisfying way

I have to mention: that interaction with Davos and the little girl with the burn on her face was priceless.  Reminded him of Stannis' daughter and her little brave heart wanting to fight. Loved that scene.

Gilly too. Shireen taught them both to read.

That said, I'm wondering if that little girl isn't going to become undead and kill one or both of them.

There are like 2 billion theories.  Not really down w/ the main theory going around but one does bring up a character we haven't talked about.

Melisandre.  Wonder how she comes back, when, and what role she will play?

About the whole "repeating itself" purgatory theory. What if the end of the series does show the Walkers wiping out humanity (on Westeros at least) and it cuts to the future and shows a Septa telling a bed time story to a young lord about "The Long Night". Similar to the scene with Bran in season 1. Just an interesting thought I haven't fully put together. I just want the ending to be MORE than just the typical ending of a medieval fantasy show.

Here's how it ends from my source:

Tyrion is sitting at the table eating onion rings listening to Journey after attending David and Donna's wedding. Cersei parks the car but has trouble because she is distracted by a helicopter on its way back from Korea. The door opens, screen cuts to black, and we flash forward in a dream sequence where we see how everybody at the bar dies and Jerry ends up in prison. McNulty drives up with the homeless guy but then fisheye roll to a little kid playing with a snow globe. Dreamy transition to Ned Stark waking up in a cold sweat and we realize he dreamed it all. He is now a lumberjack.

I'm staying far away from theories and spoilers because that tends to ruin the show for me....but I couldn't help but think of the Red Woman and how battles on GOT tend to seem all but decided, only to have a savior come riding in at the last second. Wouldn't be shocked if she was involved in some poo like that.
