Lousy Oline Play = Lousy Team

If you have the ability, I would highly recommend you go back and watch each game.

Philly, turnovers came from pressure. Our OLine would have made Brady look like poo. Watch most of those turnovers in all the games and pay attention to whether Jake has time to plant and throw the ball. I'll go ahead and tell ya, most of the fumbles/INTs came from major pressure on the QB. The Tampa Bay game was one of few games where Jake just straight up f**ked up without any help from the OLine. (Jake's biggest problem has been accuracy in my opinion)

Look at the running game. Notice how there are no holes to run through and no push to create those holes. Tampa Bay was the 1st time we dominated the line. I would be very cautious to give an award when we played one of the worst teams in the NFL.

Our OLine has been the biggest reason for our lack of success. Granted, it's not the only reason. But it is by far the weakest part of our game.

I'm just pointing out what I see going on in the game. Other people should be seeing this, but then again, a lot of people would rather beat a dead horse and bash Delhomme. Yes, he's at the end of his career. It's painfully obvious. But if people want to talk about the biggest problem, then it would be the OLine...

You may remember we threw the ball a lot in the 1st few games.. Matter of fact, Washington was the 1st time we came out to run the ball until we got it right. Throwing the ball more would cause the defense to call more passing defenses than stacking the box for the run.

Even so, we ran the ball at the end of the game on Tampa and they knew it was coming. We still created holes and gave the RBs somewhere to go. That hasn't been the case at all this season, which is why I wouldn't say we are back to '08 form in the run game just yet.. Tampa is pretty horrible..

This is mostly a general formed opinion based on the overall play our OLine has demonstrated so far in the season. This isn't to say we haven't had a good run here and there. But knowing we were passing a shitload, the opposition stacking 8 in the box wasn't our biggest downfall. Just as our run game didn't have a 20+ yard run up until the Tampa game. (I could be very wrong, but I believe our longest run up until that point was around 8 - 12 yards, and they didn't come often at all)

Until our OLine protects and provides holes... we are going to keep getting what we are getting.

Can someone tell me the last time Jake has hit a receiver in stride? Jake has happy feet and doesnt have any pocket presence. He never steps up in the pocket or rolls out to avoid the pressure. Nobody is asking him to be Vick but just dont drop back and duck!

The question was "when was the last time he hit a receiver in stride?" What QB has time to stand and wait for Smitty to get open? Our backs, TE's, 3rd and 4th receivers are among the league lows in receptions. Why is this, is it the OC, OL or receivers not getting open? Hell no, its #17, you think Davidson tells him not to throw to an open receiver? Hell he underthrew D'lo on a pick play that would have given us a first down. Look I was a big Jake supporter also but my God man he is bad.

If you cannot go back and watch any games... Pay attention from now on to the push our OLine has and the holes that are open for the run game. See how long Jake really has to throw, how they pick up the blitz, and how bad Gross has been so far. Just pay attention to the pressure applied to Delhomme.

Good QBs can perform under pressure. Rodgers has been sacked 25 times already this season, isn't slowing him down much. The average time a QB has to throw is only about 3 seconds. One thing I've noticed about our lineman on passing downs is just how passive they block. They just back up and back up until the defender finally reaches them. The pocket they form when it forms is very small many times because they give up so much space before they engage the defender.

I watched all of Jakes picks in the Eagles game. First pick no pressure just bad throw. 2nd pick had no pressure just a bad throw. The 3rd pick was a screen play so the QB is supposed to expect pressure in his face. It's the whole point of the play to draw defenders in. Jake made a terrible throw and waited too long to throw. 4th pick had no pressure and was just an under thrown ball.

In the Atlanta game he had pressure and made a bad decision. He had someone open in the flat but ignored them and tried to force it to Smith near the endzone.

First pick in the Dallas game was under no pressure and under thrown and to the inside shoulder where the defender was. 2nd pick was miscommunication with Smith.

Pick in the Redskin game was not under pressure and a bad pass way behind Moose. He was lucky to even touch it.

First pick in Bucs game was not under pressure, just a bad throw. 2nd pick Jake was under pressure but even if he wasn't that ball gets picked. The safety was breaking on that route before he even threw the ball because Jake stared down Moose.

Jake had a great second half in the superbowl, yes I agree! Right now he's 33rd in the league in QB ratings. Damn that OL and their weak arms! Jake has thrown 119 TD's and 86 ints over his career, enough is enough! Dont say again he has won the past 2 games, the running game and defense has.
