NFL concludes Panthers workplace harassment investigation

This dude is a multi billionare, thats pocket change to him. So no real personal consequences for him besides public shame i guess.

He also had to give up his pride and joy, the Carolina Panthers. He's an outcast from the NFL owners circle, which I'm sure is a huge deal for him. As mentioned earlier, the hasty sale and bad publicity did not help the valuation of the team and the resulting price. He now gets to die known as a pervert and sexual harasser instead of as a legend to the NFL and Carolina sports.

The fine was not the punishment. The man is knocking on death's door, he's not going to "enjoy" the money from the sale.

Not necessarily. The team could be out of JR's hands now and just be in a limbo state till Tepper takes the reigns officially.

Richardson is still the owner, although "not involved in the day to day activities" (if you believe that).

Yeah i know. The sale is done in two weeks though.

I'm guessing there is some mechanism for the NFL to get its money but who knows.

I imagine they could just take it out of whatever Tepper pays him if they wanted.

Does Tepper seem like the kind of guy who didn't put a clause in the contract that JR was responsible for whatever fine the league would levy on the panthers?  JR is paying this money and won't be getting out of it.

There was some specific discussion (from Person, I think; maybe Gantt) indicating that Tepper did insist on such language and that this may have been part of the reason for the hold up near the end.

Not really... League has nothing to do with the transaction, just the approval of new owner.
