Jerry Richardson did not receive the full 2.275 billion or whatever it was. At least I don't think so. The team was sold for that amount and he owns 48% of the team. So he got 48% of the sale price. When Tepper buys out the rest of the owners, it will add up to 2.275 billion or whatever it was.

Damn. Poor guy will be destitute and holding a cardboard sign at an intersection in no time.

Not putting that there for that purpose, I just keep seeing posts that are saying he got the whole amount when that is not accurate.

Nah, I get it. I'm just being snarky.

$2.75M is a poo ton of money, no doubt. But to a billionaire, it's the equivalent of the average Joe getting a minor citation for a traffic infraction... with no insurance premium repercussions to follow. It's a mere annoyance.

White's investigation also found: --No other Panthers employee engaged in misconduct; --Team never reported claims or the financial settlements to the league

Failure to report the NDAs is a violation of the NFL Personal Conduct Policy.

That finding could technically make the Panthers subject to fines or the loss of draft picks.

More likely the legal team is toast.

They were almost certainly already toast anyway.

The NFL owners seemed prepared to force JR to sell to Tepper no matter what. Surely they won't smack their chosen one's shiny new toy too hard.

It was reported a while back that Tina Becker wanted to fire team counsel Richard Thigpen but was advised not to until after the sale and / or the investigation had been completed.

Nothing stopping it now, I guess.
