Rumor : Kemba to LA

I’m not saying it’s likely we get all that but to get something before he leaves it’s better than nothing imo. But the Hornets are not going to give him up for free and Lonzo will definitely have to be included in the trade.

But do the Lakers value Kemba that much higher than Lonzo that they would offer anything else of significant value?  My guess is no.  Besides that, would getting Lonzo for Kemba really help us?  This idea of "get something for the player before their contract is up" seems to be a variation of the Sunk Cost Fallacy...how many teams actually get better when making that kind of trade?  Unless the trade includes high first round picks (which it probably won't with the Lakers), a potential all-star (which it probably won't with any team),  or allows us to dump several of our terrible contracts (probably also will not happen) we are better off letting him walk.  I would rather stay flexible for the future than lose that flexibility and maintain mediocrity by adding a guy like Ball (who is solid, but not a great player).

If LBJ go to LA and he wants Kemba, LAL will get Kemba. Same way like when LBJ went back to Cleveland and made them trade away Andrew Wiggins for Kevin Love.

Lonzo doesn’t seem like a bust. He can play. He just can’t shoot right now. Lonzo isn’t MKG.

Is there any indication that LeBron prefers Kemba to Ball (if he were to go to the Lakers)?

In some of the Cleveland rumors it's been floated out there that Lebron is behind it...  that he wants to bring in Kemba.  And from following Lebron closely throughout his career, he seems to have great admiration and respect for fellow all-stars, especially.  Also, IIRC, wasnt Lebron caught on camera last season making fun of Ball's shooting form?  So, I doubt he wants to play with him if he does go to LA.

The Lakers don’t have to value Kemba but Lebron values Kemba. If that’s a way to land Lebron in LA why the hell wouldn't the Lakers pull the trigger on that. You don’t gain anything by letting Kemba walk just because he is getting paid peanuts in comparison to most PG’s in the NBA. You trade that asset before he leaves your team and you get nothing in return. This is not the NFL you don’t get any comp picks lol.

What the actual fug.  Big Baller orchestrated his son to LA, he’s not leaving.  Plus, give me Kemba all day.

That doesn't preclude them from moving him eventually. Personally, I see it as an unlikely scenario prior to the end of his rookie contract unless the LeBron super team materializes in LA. As horrifying as his dad's off the court antics are, he isn't a terrible player by any means.

Lakers and Spurs are back in talks to trade Kawhi to LA. I just don't see how La can make an attractive offer without Ingram AND Kuzma. So let's see if we can play third wheel:

SHARE YOUR TRADE

http://www.espn.com/nba/tradeMachine?tradeId=ybsxqv2h

Hornets get Ingram, Patty Mills and Frye's 7 mil expiring.
Lakers get Kawhi
Spurs get Kemba, MKG and Lakers' 2019 1st rounder

Ingram and Kuzma will have to be in the deal. And , SA (Pop) would be stupid not to take that deal if Kawhi doesn’t want to stay. Ingram and Kuzma is the best deal they can get other than say Jaylen Brown but Kawhi doesn’t want to go to Boston.

For your trade, that’s wishful thinking. We aren’t getting Ingram and SA got ROBBED!!!!

Throw in our 2019 1st rounder? SA still getting robbed?
