McCaffrey will disappoint this year

Ultimately, I think Moore will disappoint the most fans. Not because I don't think he'll be good, but because after showing out in camp and having some highlight reels in preseason, the expectstions will be off the charts and an 800 yard season will disappoint many who'll all of a sudden be expecting 1200 since KB had 1000.

I think 600 yards from Moore is a damn good season.

Agreed...it seems unlikely Moore will have a rookie season like KB, with the competition for targets.  That said, after he gets the ball, I'm expecting him to break some away.  His numbers and targets won't be awesome but I bet he comes through when we need him.

Yep.

He's a rookie WR on a Rivera team.

He also has decent guys ahead of him on the depth chart. Unless someone gets injured, I don't see him doing much better than 600 this year.

Disappoint is an awfully subject measure.  Cmac has 500 on the ground and 500 in the air this year, ok, maybe someone could say he was disappointing.  But does that mean CJA ran for 1200 and Cam ran for 600 and threw for 3500?  I can handle that level of "disappointment" if our offense has 2300 on the ground and 3500 through the air, because it sounds a lot like 2015.

Yeah saying disappointment depends on expectations. If he only rushes for 900 yards is he a disappointment?  What if he averages 4.8 a carry?   How about if he adds 80 catches?  He's someone who may never rush for even 1200 yards but that may not equate to being a disappointment

Are there actually homers here satisfied with a top ten pick not even cracking 400 yards rushing until the end of the season on a f*cking run first team? lol.

Get the ball in his hands by pass or run this year and no disappointment.. He only got 7 carries a game last year

Wow, I guess the media is in full click bait mode during the dead season.

100 %

I don’t take it personal. Just business.

In a weird way I don’t mind because it’s such a dry time of year.

Thanks for posting so we have something to read and discuss.

Nobody is going to complain as long as there is production. Early on last year he was too indecisive and quick to dance in the backfield. Unfortunately he finished the season on a very low note with crucial backbreaking drops on the road in the playoffs against our arch rival.

Picking up CJ Anderson was a smart move, but CMC has to elevate his game substantially this year regardless. We are entering the stage of Cam Newton's career where we won't always be able to rely on his rushing heroics to save the day. Top 10 picks should anchor the offense. Yeah it isn't totally fair for CMC to have that kind of weight on his shoulders, but that's the reality in the NFL.

I see what you’re saying but in todays NFL, a RB’s worth isn’t just rushing yards like it used to be. He was valuable and contributed to us in a lot of different ways.

He had over a K combined yards with about 7 TD’s (iirc). Granted... he was a very high pick and I want more.

To be fair though. For a rookie, regardless of draft position, I don’t think he underperformed.

On another positive note, I haven’t seen any reason why he wouldn’t improve on the body of work he’s already displayed.

I don't know how many times I  saw him get the ball with guys in face and he still managed to squeeze positive yards out of it.  He was a reliable third down option both on the ground and in  the air.  There were multipe games where I feel he was the difference.  I cannot wait to see how things play with a better play designer.
