Nice work LP!

I normally listen but wasn’t in the car so I missed it. Did they ring the first time caller bell for you or had you called before?

No...called before.  Last time I talked with Gil  was right before the NFC championship game in Charlotte.  Unlike others...he said the Panther secondary was up to the task against the Cardinal receivers.   Thought the Panthers would win the game.

Well, he’s 85 years old. Simply being a step ahead of the grim reaper at that age is doing pretty well.

As I tell all the old people where I work, "You don't get to be that old being stupid".

Now, mind you, most of them are that old because they are beyond well off.

It showed too. Shula's game plan wasn't terrible but almost everything after that was. Having Norv might just be what a few of our players need.

If he had a good game plan by halftime other teams would adjust and he would crawl into a hole like Coach Klein in Waterboy.   How many games did we have a great lead in 2015 only to see it disappear and Cam saved our ass?

If he didn't have a good game plan he had zero halftime adjustment.  NONE.

Someone post that gif of Cam nodding his head after the Colts came back on us.  Epic Cam and why we continually won games by the skin of our ass in 2015.

Turner is a smart man and not only knows how to run an offense but he also knows how to adjust when other teams figure out his initial game plan.   Coaching is gamesmanship.  Shula has no gamesmanship.  Turner does.

You're right. He was there because he wanted to be there until he got a job he wanted and a situation he liked. He didn't like the situation in Minny so he walked. Sat at for a while because that's what he wanted to do.

Norv was at home on the couch for a reason.

So, it wasn't due to the fact that his offense was 27th, 29th and 28th, respectively, in total offense during his time there?

Norv doesn't even need to be HOF for our offense to improve imo. He just needs to be adaptable.

That was Shula's single biggest flaw. He had a gameplan for every game (some games it worked well) but others it was clearly failing and he would stubbornly stick to it

This is the most important thing here.....you game plan, but then you must adjust accordingly depending on how the game is playing out.  We never seemed to do this with Shula as our OC.

Sooo tired of having decent leads and then just playing not to lose instead of playing to win.  Some of that has to do with defensive calls as well (fuggin' prevent D and all that) but I don't want the offense taking their foot off the pedal whatsoever if they're rolling this upcoming season.  Hopefully Norv can make that happen.

It was a terrible fit pairing him with a team built on the WCO forever.

I'm not saying he's perfect or without fault but you need to look at the situation of you are going to judge it.
